hey guys, new member here  so...I've admired the great GN's and Turbo Buicks for the past 2 years now, ever since my dad told me about them. Even though many people my age don't know about them and of those that do, many don't respect them. Ever since seeing one, i researched their history and the Grand National instantly became my dream car i respect those cars as the great machines they are, unfourtunetly i wasn't alive during their prime years (im only 17) but i've always been into the classic muscle cars and great American cars of the past, i personally don't have a taste for anything made in recent years...anyway, while searching for my first car, me and my dad were looking for some cool old cars that would be a good buy for my first car...well the Grand National never left the back of my head, but i figured that i would never get a chance to own such an amazing car since many were out of our price range and those that were a low enough price needed too much work...well my dad surprised me with news of a GN for sale that his cousin's friend was selling and when he went to look at it, he was impressed with the condition of the car as well as the price, to make a long story short (too late for that eh?) my dad bought the car and my dream came true, i am now the proud owner of an 87 GN and I'm here hoping to fit in with all of you guys currently part of the turbo Buick community. :D

Welcome aboard!!You might wanna list the mods done to your GN in your signature, this helps in answering any questions you may have about your GN.

Kewl!

Very well written for a 17 year old.:) No really, welcome to the darkside and be safe, these cars are animals once modded. One baby step at a time and they can reward you with some great HP numbers and ET's.

Just remember one thing: With great power, comes great responsibilities. Just be safe is all I'm saying, way to many kids are dying drag racing on the streets. I Probably sound like you dad right?

Got any pictures:smile:

I haven't modded anything on it yet...as of right now the car is at my cousin's auto shop, hes doing some work on it so it doesn't have any major problems when i start driving it. I'm going to use it as a daily driver to school and my part time job. I'm hoping to upgrade things one step at a time and I'll post some pics when the car reaches my driveway =)

Welcome!
You should start reading up at Turbo Regal Web Site for resource information, these cars can be extremely frustrating (and expensive) to own if you don't know your way around them.

Make sure you drive safe! When I was 16 I built up a H/C LS1 F-body, always carefully drove it, but it got wrecked because of my inexperience with that much power.

I'm sixteen, and i drive an 86' T-type daily  i think I beat you.

Great to see young guys getting into the TR scene. I was around when they came out and my Dad just looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for one. He knew me way to well to hand the keys of one over.

This site and it's members have been a huge help over the last year and a half. I have made great friends all over the country, you could not have picked a better community to get involved with!!!!
