I see you got the clutch setup.

Car is awesome, I like the blue.

Yes it has the "man pedal" in it. That's actually not the interior of my car. I haven't taken a picture of the interior, but it looks exactly like that, although the blue leather is much darker than what shows in the pic.

The car came with the bra. I bought it used. I don't know how much reading you guys have done on the GTOs, but they have very soft paint. I suggest some sort of bra. I've got a buddy with a charger srt8 and he had a clear bra put on his car. You can't even tell its there.

Mike: What problems have you had with STS??? I am curious as they are local to me and i have friends that work there. They don't have time to troll boards so i like to address things when i find them and let them know what complaints exist within communities like ours. If you want post here or PM me the issues you have had.

I know one of the biggest complaints is the oil line dumping into the valve cover.

why would that be a complaint?

We dump it on top of one solitary lifter in the buick.

How would this adversely affect the car? You don't even have to drill the hole, most kits come with a new oil cap that has the fittings on it to install the line.

I'd have to read through the complaints I've seen from the GTO guys to be sure, but if I remember correctly, the setup that comes with the GTO STS system is poorly constructed.

What do you mean by poorly constructed? Having installed 5 kits and hanging out regularly with them i have yet to see a poorly constructed kit. Although nobody is perfect and mistakes get made, this is something that no company in the industry escapes not even our beloved vendors, i know for a fact if a part is of subpar quality or defective it is remedied quickly.

Didn't mean to imply the kit was poorly constructed. The setup for the oil return has caused problems. Problems with the PVCs too, a lot of guys are going to VC breathers and catch cans, kinda like what we do with the GNs.

I'm doing research cuz I think the STS is the direction I want to go. A lot of the guys are saying that the $5000 base kit is incomplete, and that most of them have $7-8k in the system to be reliable.

It is better to avoid the base kit, because it is just that BASE. I don't install anything but the nicer kits that come with the goodies. The universal base kits requires fabrication and many other things that drive the cost up. Personally every turbo car should be running a catch can, blow off valve and breathers, it is just a good measure to make your car last longer and run better.

What car were you wanting to do the kit on?

Dave I have one question and one question only.........was that octane booster in use when you beat me in Salem 2005????

If so, then I would certainly like a re-match and I too would like a bottle of that fine octane booster and maybe I can give you a better race next time:biggrin:
