This is the new PTE 6262 DBB with billet wheels setup compaired to my Limit TA49. This is a really impressive little unit. NOt a very big turbo by normal standards, but bad to the bone!

That looks really nice.
Are you going to port the wastegate hole?

good idea to get it done or else he will end up with major boost spike, port the hole to at least 1.1 inches or a little smaller than the downpipe puck which i believe is 1.2 inches in diameter.

Does anyone have an on-line template I can print out and scribe?

Hadn't really considered it, but that's a great idea. I'll have to think on this one this weekend.

Might want to run the turbo on the car for a while before doing that, that way you get the nice carbon build-up on the housing (like on your old turbo in the picture). You can use the carbon to give you a clear idea of where the wastegate puck sits, that way you don't make the hole too big. If you were to port it right now, I'm not sure how you'd get a clear idea of where the wastegate puck is at. It's not always centered over the hole. Look at your old turbo, you can see the wastegate hole, but the outline of the puck in the carbon is offset. Unless you have some kind of grease, smear it on the wastegate puck, bolt the turbo to your downpipe, open and close it a few times, and see if it leaves a clear enough mark.

Curious why you went with the 6262 when you have a lot of supporting mods for the 6265??

This is a 95% street car and 5% strip. I have a 3000 stall converter, and after discussions with folks who are in the know I felt it was better to go conservative. I want to see a very quick spool. I also do not want to install a roll bar my car just to run at the track, so with a very conservative tune I would like to see mid 11's. I have a race car for the 10's. No more or less than that. Yes, I could have restalled the converter, since I still have a free one, and yes the mods are there, but you get the point. :D

Good thought man! Run to the auto store, get a tube of Prussian Blue, coat the puck, bolt on the DP. slap the puck shut once or twice and remove the pipe and Wala.....A nice mark to go by! I would definately port if I were you!

I concur with all the others. Port the hole before you put that badboy on the car.

Its fun grinding on things.....

I purchased it from Hartline Performance. I believe the list price is $1399, but I would call the Hartlines on that.

Looks like you could spend a little time grinding on the downpipe to unshroud the ex. wheel as well.
