Just got my DS in today. 1st run.....

top of first:
4950 RPM
4.72V TPS
254 LV8
230 MAF
108 IAC
25.59 Inj PW
25 deg spark advance
0.7 Knock Ret
5 Knock Count
A/F 1.4:1 ????
02 volts 839 mV
02 x counts 87

BLM 142
INT 132

What do you make of it?

Next run......

near the top of third..... car cuts out....and pics back up almost instrantly....

according to datalog....

@ 92 mph .... TPS value went to 0.08
MPh went to 4mph
RPM went to 50 RPM
Knock was at 4
o2's went to 16 mV...

What in the hell is that?

all this happened in .05 seconds
.06 seconds later

TPS 4.72 volts
RPM and speed were still down but coming up
less than 1 second later.... speed was back up to 84 mph

just before car cut out....
text screen shows

PE Mode
BOOST
3rd
TCC
BATT
Closed Loop ?????

during that portion of 1 second:

PE mode went off
Boost went off
3rd was still lit.... but so is 4th?
Batt and A/C lit.....
Now it shows open loop for the first time??????
less than 1/4 second later.... goes back to closed loop......

Any ideas?

Why would it remain in closed loop when the pedal is on the floor?

well the one variable that affects everything and which is unaffected by anything else is your TPS , now either theres something wrong with the wiring at the tps , or the tps its bad (i would also set it for around 4.5 at full pedal travel ) , or you lost power to the ecm breifly (check the orange wire by the battery for wear or poor connection ) or you have a loose power feed to the harness at the starter or at the fuse block connection and also check the battery connections

Also, re clean your DS connector at the ECM. If it glitches, it'll cause some pretty wierd stuf to happen, much like what you experienced.

For those who know what they are looking at, I have uploaded 4 "runs" I recorded using DirectScan. These runs were out in the country.... on street tires.... car is bone stock..... and might need some attention.....anyway....I just want someone to look at these runs and tell me if anything stands out as potentially bad....or whatever.....

You might have to right click on the link... and hit "save target as" to get it to save.

DS FILES

Run two is where the computer lost power for like .1 seconds....

The other runs it pulled OK.

What chip and gas were you running?

Seemed to be out of injector at high duty cycle over 100% on some passes.

Also seemed rich at times.

And the KR number seemed stuck on .7 for some reason but I did see 1.2 a couple of times in low gear that probably isn't an issue.

Other than that the shift points may be a bit low by 200 rpms or so, but not bad for a stocker. First to second was usually 4900 or so everytime.

As others mentioned that connector has to be clean and working well without being able to move ie. pushed on or off too far on the ECM edge connector.

Otherwise you will get funky readings.

93 octane and stock chip......

Trying to decide weather to buy a turbotweak chip now.... or hold off until I upgrade the turbo/intercooler/injectors.

I noticed the fuel injector duty cycle being too high..... don't know why I would run out of injector unless the pressure is too low at the fuel rail. Heck.... the motor is bone stock down to the original airbox. I will check that tonight maybe...... have an adjustable stock-appearing regulator I could install if the pressure was off.

Is it normal for the computer to stay closed loop for the entire run? I thought there was something fishy about that.
