The track and weather plays a big part in what happes on the track and it sounds like the weather was crapy and that is the way the boat floats! I have never been thier and want to go some time but i live near norwalk ohio and i have seen thing happen even on good days. should have could have hind sight is 20/20 thats all thier is to it, like i have said before good to see that he is OK! and Alive!

Hey Cal I'm on your side. Don't think for a minute you were at fault for anything. People need to understand that sh!t happens and we have to learn from the mistakes and MOVE ON. Sometimes us human beings like to "overanalyze" things until we can no longer find anything else to analyze and then we start analyzing the analyzation process itself! The wreck happened, OC made it out OK, can't turn back time so I say put it to rest and move on.

you did what i asked you to do, i asked you tuesday afternoon to make it go faster when we started qualifing, and you did your job, you should have took the money i offered you, i feel guilty for not paying you, you can put the numbers in my program any time. if it wasnt for you i never would went as fast as i have, you first tuned my car back in 2000 ,
good luck oc, ps i will be in bowling green next year with a new car

Guys, I'm not trying to put blame on anyone for Odell's misfortune. I asked if it was OK to throw my .02 cents in and it was fine with him.
My reason for giving my view of what happened is because I see the same thing over and over from veteran and rookie drivers alike. They get caught up in the excitement and stay in it a little too long, and freeze up or just don't get at the steering wheel aggressively enough. I'm sure Odell has delt with similar scenarios before, but we all can have a day when we just aren't paying attention as much as we could. I constantly think about whether I'm going to have one of those days. If the consequences of a mistake are on your mind, you'll tend to be more careful.
Most importantly, there are a lot of young drivers who are looking at this video and thinking that if there is nothing they could have done to prevent this, then they might a well start selling off their racing equipment because they sure as hell don't want to go through something like that. My opinions are for those drivers most of all. They want to understand what happened so that they have a better chance of not having to go through the same thing. From what I can sense of OC, I'm sure he would like to do whatever he could to make sure a young driver doesn't have to go through the same thing he did, whether it be a tuning tip, driving tip or a tip on reading the weather and the track.
Bottom line, I'm just trying to help make some sense of this for those racers that are very concerned about their own safety after seeing a video like this.

I was thinking about looking for rollers for you.
Unfortunately I sold mine a couple months ago.

Guys Don Wang is a good guy and an asset to this community.
His inquires mean no harm and have no hidden agenda.
Part of his personality and passion include thinking outside of the box and
wanting to know how things work in great detail.
Of course we should never let someone mock OC's misfortune but on the
other hand we should not restrict a creative mind.
