Dont be a douche like you always are, just pointing out what I saw from the video, and it doesnt matter how fast you go, advice is advice from one buick owner to another, btw what are you doing here, you dont even own a buick or a buick powered car, so dont let the door hit you on the way out.. ;)

What you "saw" on video is something you'd never understand. Stick to the car polish. All that matters is the drivers health. Your advice is irrerelevant and I'll close that door in your face on the way out. Good job "CREW CHIEF"!

How about lets drop that subject and keep this thread on track:)

OC I'm am truly glad you are OK just make sure you get checked out tom. I watched that happen from my trailer down track and it had to be one of the worst incidents I had to watch especially when it is someone you race with and consider a friend. It almost looked like it was happening in slow motion and believe it or not viewing from up track it looked even worse than the starting line video.

If you want my assessment there wasn't anything you could've done and you were just along for the ride. Hind sight is always better and it is easy to sit and critique a video but unless your in the drivers seat and in that situation no one else can say you should've would've or could've because they really have no clue.

I know you've recently put a lot of time and money into your car and suspension I hate to see your car all busted up just when it seemed to be starting to come around for you. I hope to see you back out there with us but understand if you don't rebuild.

The several cars that went down the track prior had trouble as well keeping them straight. (this happened after a rain delay) I would have thought some of the slower cars would have made passes first to help put some rubber down. The track had to be cool after it was rained on for as long as it was.

I know OC has to be sick looking at the car but the MAIN thing is, he's ok and still here to build again. We can replace cars but we can not replace friends and family. I was in total shock watching it unfold, glad your are ok OC and still with us to fight another fight.

First, I am glad O.C. was ok and plan to call him later in the week. Second, there was a rain delay and I was sending slower cars down the track to work in the VHT but Kenny D. and the Galina team wanted to get a shake down pass in and asked me to send them next before the rain hit again. Everyone back in the circle track area wanted to get a pass in before the rain hit as it was coming fast. The Galina/Freeman car pulled to the right due to a broken hiem joint on the wheelie bar, not the track. Kenny made a point to come find me and let me know that thats what it was. O.C.s car started pulling to the right and unloaded the right tire. Before anyone goes posting their negative comments make sure you have your facts straight. I was at the starting line and saw and heard what happened. I also spoke with O.C. and he didn't blame the track conditions. Was the track less than optimal; yes due to the weather. Evenyone knew that and in typical fashion it always takes the internet to stir the pot by people with opinions that weren't even there. Again, I am glad O.C. is fine and I am sure he will be back with us A.S.A.P. Anyone that knows him knows that he's not a quitter and he loves racing. I look forward to seeing him strapped in another one ready to run.

Bring your wrinkled butt to Reynolds and I'll wear my overhalls too. Even though you got transplanted into yankee territory you had to hold on to a lil bit of home didn't ya? :D

First off, I want to make sure people know that my intention is not to be insensitive to the situation. Losing a car that has a lot of sweat and tears involved in its creation is one of the worst things that I can imagine happening to a person, besides debilitating injury or death. Yet, we're all grown adults here, and mostly, we're racers. We know what's on the line, and we take the possibilities to heart each time we take a trip down the lane with her.

I, for one, feel it's important to try to analyze each accident that I have the opportunity to witness to further my knowledge of how cars react during hard runs, to hopefully hammer into my own hard head certain do's and don'ts when faced with a precarious situation on the track. When given the opportunity to pass some of that knowledge to someone else, I eagerly give without reservation. If some of the wisdom I can pass to someone turns a situation for the better, it makes me feel good that maybe I had something to do with it.

It's unfortunate that high performance drag race driving technique is not a study that is readily and economically available to people. People are often left to learn in the worst way. People that do attempt to offer a reason for an unfortunate situation are often criticized as not knowing what they're talking about. To me, that is sad. Whether they are correct or not in their assessment, it's natural for people to want to understand why something like this happened, and some are eager to offer an explanation so that hopefully someone else can learn something and prevent a future incident from occurring.
Look at the airplane industry. After an accident there is a indepth study into what happened so that others can learn from the situation, in hopes of preventing another similar occurrence. Whether it be an equipment failure that needs to be changed before the next plane takes to the air, or a procedure in pilot training that needs to be changed.

Sorry for the long winded vent. I think discussion of an accident should be encouraged rather than discouraged. I would like to pass on some observations, but I understand that it may not be accepted. Unless I receive an invitation from Odell to share my opinions, I will keep them to myself. If anyone else would like to learn, you can pm or email me. I've seen quite a few accidents at our track, and there always seems to be a few factors that are very common in most.

One question, if it's OK with you Odell. It is no way related to the cause of the accident. Were you using aftermarket control arms in the front end?

Lets give thanks to our first responders Bo and Ricky that didnt hesitate on scaling the fence , And another for Cal running his fasted 1/8 mile to check on there friend Odell  Were glad your ok, Odell nats 056.jpg
