went to remove the pan (rear seal) & could't get the pan down, pan baffel stuck on the pickup tube. so i removed the tube & took tke pan down ok with the tube off. Question now is re assembly..Most everyone ssaid was not necessary to lift the motor.
Thanx for your advice

Some say the motor has to be rotated just right so the front counterweight on the crank doesn't interfere. I also remove the flexplate inspection cover and crossover. You also have to hold your moutn just right. It'll come off and on, but it is a snug fit.

removed

x over, & rotated the crank. like i said little concerned about the put back together

I don't believe I ever had to remove the oil pump pickup tube. You have to finagle it from different angles, etc. If you removed the pickup tube, just be sure to replace the gasket, torque it to spec, etc. If you have to put the pan and pickup up together then reach your hand in to install and tighten the pickup. Although there may not be enough room...

take off the x over, the trans inspection cover, then drop the pan. might have to rotate theengine because of the front crank weight. just like the c4 corvetts
