Hi eveybody, My oil dash light turned on about 2 months ago, last time i drove it, I Did a few Mods on downtime. I installed a oil cooler, F-body Rad, Electric Fan, sparkplugs and wire, Red Top injectors(they were free) Put everything back, now it wont stay on, dies out after 30secs. I have no scan tool (sorry) I took out the O2 it was Carb up big time. After the O2 was switched out,It ran real smooth(30secs) then Dies out. Along with that another problem, I look through the valve cover hole, no oil is moving at higher or low RPM. Is this a bad Oil pump?? i wanted some feedback on getting a high vol oil pump, should i get a stock replacement or upgrade or is this even the problem. Not much details other then, i dont see oil moving in the valve cover, my Electric oil pressure reads low. I uses a oil cooler sandwich adaptor.

Few more items I have done,New Fuel filter, V-power plugs(stock gap), taylor thunder wires,MAF,coil, IAC, TPS sensors are good worked fine before all this.

Funny thing to, with my rebuilt turbo it ran fine with old injectors, driver side exhaust mainifold got red hot but ran. With my spare low miles turbo on now along with Red top injectors(new seals, caps etc) other mods it won't stay on longer then a few mins.

A few things I notice;

With an injector change, you need a chip change.
Most likely, the plugs are fauling out, that is why it won't run.
Also soulds like you had a chip problem before since the O2 was carbon fouled.
Contact TT in the link in my signature.

The "read hot" exhaust is a clear sign there was gas burning in the exhaust.
You will need it get this sorted out, or it will get REAL expensive.
The TT chip will take care of this.
Did I mented to contact TT for the correct chip??? ;)

If you had oil pressure before, remove the oil cooler adapter and prime the motor with a drill, and see if you have pressure / oil to the top.
There are many other issues that can affect oil pressure, but, you should be getting oil to the top, period!
FWIW; Electric oil pressure senders have been known to be off.

Also, go back and verify the oil filter. May be an issue internally as well.
Than change the oil since it is probably gasoline fauled fromr the bad chip.

As far as oil pressure; The stock oil pressure is not very high on these motors. Hot idle spec (Which escapes me) is like 10-18 PSI at idle. You can do a search on this, or someone with a manula can give the exact range. ;)

A high volume pump is not needed and won't make a difference.
The stock oil pump is sufficient if everything is set-up correctly.

Last but not least; "Go Fast Parts" are very cool, but unless you have a scantool and learn to tune, they mean nothing.

The injectors are 30lbs which was told i didn't need a chip but i had a feeling to still order one. TT CHIP will be ordered within a week:biggrin:, tho i will grab a 86 ECM at the junk. As for the CHIP I Don't want the air temp sensor, could that be taken off by TT?? i heard it can be done, well i heard TT can do pretty much anything. Thanks for the advice and yes a scan tool will be ordered as well instead of my uppers&lowers rear kit.

I would get a part number off the injectors before you order the chip--so you KNOW exactly what you have instead of what someone told you... my .02 and yes TT can leave out the temp sensor... Also read everything in the Basic Hot Air info "sticky" twice and you'll gain alot of info!!

So i take off the cam sensor&shaft use a v8 priming tool and that should bring up the oil to the rockers? I have tried the remove fuel pump fuse and hotwire kit (disconnect) no oil still. So i just upbolt the cam sensor, use the primer tool and that should work? 30 for a primer not bad at all. Let you guys know, yes i had oil pressure before all this, that's the strange part.

Just curiuous... Have you checked the oil pickup screen? and when you get the TT chip I believe it may want higher fuel pressure so you may need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, if you don't have one already... my .02

I didn't check the pickup i just thought it would be one of many problems if oil isn't getting to the rockers. I will get to the bottom of this damn oil problem. as for the FPR i might get a Adj. I have the bosch 327 on there but if it calls for it gotta get it.

Yes.
You can borrow a priming tool at a local store (Autozone, etc).
I would personally not turn the key untill I see oil.
