over flow bottles

I wanted to ask if anyone has tried glass beading their overflow bottles. I want to try it but want get someone experience first. This way I dont wreck it.They have been discontinued and cost have gone up?

I'd try it on one out of the junkyard first. I don't see why you couldn't do it...so long as yours isn't too brittle.

No they have'nt, GM is having them reproduced by another company. They are on BACKORDER right now.

As far as Myself and Bweavy know, they are on backorder from GM. Hopefully we will have an update soon.

I paint mine, the stain is usually inside or clean it with bleach and water and scrubb with soft brush works well.

My understainding from someone in the know with GM is the lil brass piece in the coolant overflow nipple is the hold up

Your probably correct, like the marker lights in the bumper & the PS marker light. Hate to say it I would rather see it made in China then see it on e-bay & discontinued for $150.00

They discontinued a few other items this week. We are playing scavengers & hitting the dealerships that have them in stock. Getting them shipped in.

Really Cool Tip!!!!!

Who needs the stink-en S hose anyway, just plug it off at both ends one way or another. Then drill four 3/32" or 1/8" holes around the 160 degree thermostat for a substitute by-pass. I did this many, many years ago and have never had a problem "ever". Doing this also cleans up the front of the engine. :biggrin:

Here's a cheap FWIW..................Mr.Clean majic eraser will spank them up pretty darn well. Give it a try if you up for taking the pepsi challenge! Just go inside and steal your wifes!! I use them damn things on about everything.

To anyone who spent 110.00 on 2 over flows....

They are back in stock. They went up a few bucks. They have different packaging then the old units but not made in China. I'm guessing the packaging raised the price.
