Ok guys. I have a PLX SM-AFR wide band o2 setup to put on the regal tonight.
I am only hooking it to the Power Logger, no external AFR gauge at this time.

I want to make sure I've got the wiring right in my head before I start. This is how I understand it.

The o2 harness goes from the o2 to the sensor input on the SM-AFR (it has it's on plug so that's a no brainer)

The Power source from the SM-AFR. The module came with a plug that goes in the Module and has 1 red wire and 1 black wire. I put the plug into the SM-AFR, the red wire to 12v with key on, and black wire to ground.

The only other connection I need is from the SM-AFR to the Power Logger. The SM-AFR has an analog output that uses a plug that has 4 connections in it.

Top Left is 3.3V, Bottom Left is ground, Top Right is Narrow Band, and Bottom Right is Wide Band. It is my understanding that the only wire that I need to hook to this is the Bottom Right to the wide band. Then run that wire to the I/O #1 connector of the Power Logger.

Am I right or is their other connections that I need to make? Again, I'm only hooking the WBo2 to the PL and not an external AFR Gauge.

TIA

Thats the same way we did mine back in August. Been working great ever since. I didnt have to calibrate it or anything. You'll love your new wideband.

P.S. Just make sure you use a solid ground. I think I used the bracket the fuse box cover bolts too. Its a good ground.

Display

Are you guys going to use the Scanmaster to display? Or a different gauge? I am soon going to install this same setup and use the SM to display I think. Everyone seems to love the PLX/Powerlogger/TT 6.0 combo so far..

Correct, make sure the bottom left (ground) to a good ground. NOT the powerlogger ground.

Ground hookup

I thought all you had to do was hook-up the Pwr/Ground wire combo for the unit source and the the analog output wire into the Power Logger block...

Did not know you had to run the additional ground wire from the bottom left section-just the WB out wire. so then this additional ground wire out goes in to the PL block labeled #4 ?

You don't need to run a ground to the bottom left pin. That's mainly used with PLX's display gauge.

please do not connect anything to the PL ground terminal, thats not what its for.

just run one analog wire

Bob

OK everyone. I just ran the signal wire from the Bottom Right pin of the SM-AFR to the #1 I/O terminal of the PL and it works fine.

Thanks everyone.

I had to use the ground wire. But then again, possibly because I'm feeding a Translator Pro, and using wideband tracking.

shouldn't have needed to, if you want review your installation, post up the details.

But,

1: Your Wideband unit needs a good ground. Engine ground is recommended.

2: You need to connect 2 wires on the Pro to read the wideband.

3: You need to connect 1 wire on the PL for it to read the wideband.

4: The ground connection on the PL is not for grounding 'big' things, its there only if you have a pressure sensor that needs 5v and ground to run. In this case you use the 5v and ground from the PL to run that sensor. No other type of connection to the 5v and ground terminals of the PL are correct.

Hello TurboBob, I have a question about the Gen 2 and the PLX wide band 02. My question is the purple wire that comes from the gen 2; does it go to the wide band ground on the left side next to the WB output, or does it go to the ground wire that powers the WB up. I'm a little confused and my wideband numbers are jumping around. I just want to thank you or anyone who helps with this situation in advance, and have a happy new year.

Digging out a old thread, putting the innovative on the bench and dropping a fresh PLX in the old Buick soon.... love the Internet (for Buick information)

The innovative gage feed wire will also get connected to the power logger number 1 post, then I should be able to use it with the PLX wide band ? Chuck

I don't think the innovate gauge and PLX are compatible.
