I'm at 24 right now trying to get to a clean 25/26 got a little hint of surging going on in upper boost (I'm thinking maybe a little too much alky? Knob on 6.5) Single Nozzle. Timing 22.2 in 3rd/4th. AFR 10.8-11.4 . I don't have tracking but on the replay that's what it fluctuates to. Oh yeah and as Grump says, so far, No Knock.:) 93oct from Shell.
(Edit) I'm at 26 now the surge was the spark plugs ,put fresh ones in gapped at .28 all is well now. Single nozzle.

Last year I had to keep it under 22 or so, due to running e85 on a single walbro.

Ya think........? :)

what are you running for a wastegate?

Bob

Turbosmart 38mm external, 14 lb spring with Turbonetics manual regulator (big black one) This run was just tuner style, wanted to rule out the controller causing problems. Weird, thought I had this under control. Breaking out the die grinder again today to do some more porting of the wastegate hole. Last attempt at this and then will probably have to re-pipe off the headers instead of going thru the turbo housing. Have read that if you have boost creep it can not be solved by a boost controller, it is a exhaust flow issue.

Little fun earlier today, looks like I am getting some boost creep again.

119mph!!! In the streets!!!! Waaaaa... Lol... Nice i do 63 on a 55mph an i get a ticket.. Damn cpd...

THANK GOD FOR JULIO!!!!

I am only running 18 to 21 psi boost right now at 19 deg timing with 10.5 AFR. Car seems to lay down after 18 psi anyway and it will sputter a little in the manifold if I run any more timing. I am not out of fuel at this level but the car just does not seem to pick up power with increased boost after a certain level. It is still fun to drive. I will keep messing with it. Maybe I am out of turbo.

Depends on what you mean by Boost "Controller", boost creep can be controlled with a closed loop boost controller, but most of the stuff being sold nowadays are open loop "solenoid controllers". There are other hardware issues that contribute to creep, but the most important one is that the exhaust has to "want" to go thru the gate.

Took off the downpipe and hit the turbo exhaust housing some more today. Can't lay it back any more than it is now! Will see what happens when I take it out again, maybe tomorrow. Using the black regulator type Turbonetics controller which is closed loop. Use both ports of the gate.

the regulator is not closed loop. No matter how high the boost goes, the regulator will still put the same amount of pressure to the balance side of the gate.

the wastegate itself is "closed loop" pneumatically. The higher the boost, the farther it opens. But its a pretty low "gain" device as mechanical regulators tend to be.

Run 28/29 most runs now,has gotten me 10.0@137 still trying to get that damn 60 ft down!!!!!
