Pulled Motor Transmission Lost Support

I pulled my motor. I had a jack with a 2x4 supporting the transmission. I needed to push my car back into the garage, so I used a bungee cord to support the transmission, by hooking the bolts on the TC. Instead of slowing lowering the jack under the trans, I let it drop. Trans fluid started dripping out what appeared to be the base of the TV cable.
Is there a seal around the TV cable that could have broken? I didn't see fluid dripping from any where else.
My hope here is that I didn't do any serious damage to my transmission. Although, with my new engine coming I will need to have it rebuilt anyway.

I hope that's it. What is a bummer is I was really concerned with the trans dropping and I thought I prevented it. If I would not have had to push my car I would have just left the jack and 2x4 supporting it. Add another $100 or whatever the cost is.

And, Don't hang the trans on the converter. It twists the converter neck in the ft pump!

in future before you lower the trans just put a jack stand on the frame and extend it to the top of trans case .

and as chuck pojnted out.. supporting by the converter is a bad idea
you could have tied a rope through the pilot holes and looped that over the hood center support bolt on the cowl

hope you disconnected the trans linkage to the column or you may have more troubles

And, Don't hang the trans on the converter. It twists the converter neck in the ft pump!

Thanks Chuck. What's the easiest way to roll the car with the engine out? Will a trans jack do it. Sorry not a mechanic, just started working on cars a few years ago. Other than routine maintenance.

After getting a second look, it turns out that the trans dip stick tube pulled out. Thankfully nothing else broke.

I put a jack stand on the frame and extended it to the top of the transmission bell housing and I slowly lowered it and looks to be holding it in place. The jack stand is angled and supported by the member where the motor mounts are placed. You have to be careful not to pinch the brake lines. I hope this will hold it the next time I need to move the car. For right now, I still have the floor jack with a 2x4 on it supporting the oil pan.

I use a ratchet strap through the pilot holes in the trans and hook over the center hood support

I use a piece of 1 1/2" angle iron spanning the frame rails, 2 holes in it for bolts thru the lower outer bellhousing holes...

I should do this, just when moving the car. That way the hood weather strip doesn't get damaged. I have several racket straps.
