finally put the car on the dyno Saturday and netted 395hp but only 409 ft tq, now this was at 18# and the a/f seemed a little rich at 10.8-11.2 but i didnt have much time to tweak. the converter in the car isnt very loose so i dont think its falling there, im puzzled how the hp and tq are so close and that they both seem to peak about 5k but ramps up brutally fast on both.

i should have added that both graphs almost overlay each other as well, just seems odd that tq isnt higher and come in sooner.

Torque convertor probably isn't loading engine enough and turbo needs time to spool

thank you very much for the info Cal, i took the car to the track this weekend and the car was trapping 114-115 most the day @ 12.6 (car wouldnt hook at all with a 2.0 60 ft)

the more i ponder these results and my time slips last weekend im wondering if i didnt get hosed on the size of this turbo. ive never measured it as i took the shops word when i purchased it but everything ive read sure seems like a TE63 would trap better than 115. i even turned the boost to 20# with no change.

You have stock heads, "big cam" and running about 20psi and you're not happy with a 115 trap speed? Turbos only support mass flow. They won't just make power just because. Heads and "small" fast ramp hyd roller will trap 125+ @25psi with a te63 driving through the converter.

the heads on this car are ported stockers with bigger valves but I cant recall the cam specs. I may be getting concerned too soon.

YEEP .. BUT HE COULD DROP THE STALL TO 3000 AND GO FASTER .. I THINK 3500 ON STOCK HEADS IS ONE OF HIS ISSUES . NOT ENOUGH POWER CURVE .

Looking at the eighth to quarter mph gain would give more useful data than the dyno number unless the dyno was power vs road speed.

here is the dyno graph, the difference in the times were 8.23 @ 88.79 (1/8) to 12.60 @ 113.84 (1/4) on the quickest run and thats a 2.06 60 ft.

It's picking up quite a bit out the back probably because of the wheel spin. Turn the boost up
