Before the warranty runs out, have them go through it. Replace battery, and clean it. I don't think its worth it to buy the warranty. Personally, I never buy an expensive laptop. 350$ Wal-Mart special is all I need :D. When most computers are 1 year old, they have already been out dated by 8 months anyway. If I get one year out of the computer, I got my money worth out of it. Anyways.. I guess I am saying is it will last you a long time. Hardware never really fails in a computer.

Good luck

spend the money on a MacBook Pro and it will last forever and will never give you an issue and will always be worth money. I was buying laptops every other year or so and got sick of how chitty they performed and waisting $700 every couple of years. a Mac is like having the reliablity of a Camry and the performance of a GT2

+1

My MacBook pro hasn't missed a beat in 5 years. Bought the wife one for Christmas last year...she LOVES it.

As far as your current laptop, have it checked out while it is under warranty and just keep a good virus program running and keep your disk cleaned up. When it gives up the ghost get yourself a Mac

How does Powerlogger run on a mac book pro?

Mac will run Windows too. But I just use an old Windows laptop for my FAST, Why subject a good laptop to riding in your car.
