That sucks for you guys. I used to know of a dual fuel car but it has not been out in a while. Most progress to full race fuel cars and keep it that way. I wanted to do it years ago but alky helped me achieve the goal. Now I will try the corn because its cheap, winter is coming and my short block was only $250! Look into getting a 55 gallon drum shipped to Otto. Couldn't be impossible. Hell rent a u haul and take a road trip and fill ten of them! You guys seem to like to experiment.

The problem is a 55 gallon drum would not last very long and I would have to upgrade my fuel system for it to work. I dont see it getten here for quite some time unfortunately.

Hoe much would a 55 gallon drum cost?

I would contact this place. I Googled it and see that rockett brand sells e85 and e98 in drums.

Yes spot my 6 ...I see you...give up on the Buick man?....

Its still a lot cheaper to run 110 octane than any corn based fuel in CT. Transporting 55 gallon drums is a waste of time. You need about 2x the fuel with e98. Might as well have a race car and just buy 55 gallon drums of metanol if your going to play with alky.

Ever consider switching to E-85 you get race gas performance or better at prices cheaper than regular 87 gas. Pretty easy to switch to e-85 and not too expensive either. Just my 2 cents.

Easy to switch. Maybe. Cheap? Not to most. Especially the cheap fvcks on this board.

With the FAST I tuned the car for various boost levels and all I would change is the boost level depending on what was in the fuel cell.

Props to the guys doing dual fuel systems though. Definately out of box thinking.

What valves are used in the electrical switched systems using the same injectors? Most (cheaper) aka dual tank electric switching assemblies are not rated for our fuel pressures (43# plus 23# boost is 66# & these tank switches are rated at 65#).

A long time ago I had considered a dual fuel system. "SPOT MY 6" came up with a 30 second system which looks good, however, it takes 30 seconds to switch.
Razors pricing $2-3K appears to be pricey compared to alcohol - which I consider to be more practical.

The most practical system I've seen is what one of the locals does: He has a nice "family" car & a ratty appearing "race" car.

Heard elecromotive ECM can control 16 injectors with different sizes. Could do a small/large inj on one fuel (low/high boost) or same size with different fuels.;)

I have been doing this for 20 years. I came up with the system that GNBrett shows in his diagram in his post. I called my system the TSR Switch Fuel. I have been giving this info away freely for years. Call or e-mail me for details. Tom Shea, Lakeville, Minnesota, not Michigan like Julio said. He got my last name close for spelling. Phone before 9 pm, 952-892-5669. ttshea@charter.net.

There is no E85 in this part of the country. If there was I absolutely would.

That totally sucks...I love pulling up to the pump and filling up with fuel that is 75cents per gallon cheaper than 87 and makes me wonder if my knock gauge even works!!!

I have personally seen Tom Shea's fuel system in action and it works!!!(I was driving the car it was in while he was logging)(early fast system)If you can operate toggle switches you can use this system!!!

how about a nozzle on the gas tank to drain out the race gas when your done? is that practical?

Sump the stock tank and Jack it up in the front. We do this on a friends nitrous loving small block Monte. Drain the 93. Add race gas. Go win money. Drain the race gas. Pour back in the 93. No hurt parts or wasting race fuel. He could do the dual set up but we're still young and energetic.

Some great ideas in this thread but just my two cents... Seems like Julio's Alky system is the simplest and best route, period. I used to run 100 octane on the street and then using a jumper wire between the alternator and pump plug under the hood, pump out the 100 though the end of the fuel rail and replace that with 110 at the track. Alky replaced all that hoopla and my best times were run with 93 octane and alky at the track. My best times at the track are run exactly with the same setup which I drive the car several thousand miles a year on the street. I buy 93 octane anywhere... and anytime, anywhere my car is locked and loaded for fun on the street or strip. Paul

remove fuel from tank

Not to get this thread off track. If you want to remove the race fuel after use. Just open the schraeder valve on the front of the driver side fuel rail. Push a 5 to 6 ft lenght of 3/8 rubber fuel line on it (don't even need a clamp). Run the hose to your empty race fuel containers. Jump the fuel pump lead (grey wire with black connector behind and below alt) from the batt term lug back side alt. This will run the pump to drain the tank.

TSR Switch Fuel

The TSR switch fuel system switches from the drivers seat and does not dilute the race fuel. It is designed to operate on the fly. It only takes a few seconds for the whole process. The activation colud be automatic, but I just use the manual toggles. There should be a slight delay between switching the feed prior to switching the return.
