qwik questions before this stock radiator r the 84/85 and 86/87 radiators the same ? ex. if i were to swap one from the other like an 86 to an 85 will it work just fine with my existing hoses n lines? thanx

I believe 90% they are the same. I went to autozone's site the part numbers are the same for the 87 GN and 85 TR.

Why ask? If you found a used Radiator from a 86/87 TR save your money and get the F-body radiator(100$ Lifetime warrt)

so can i go and buy this radiator and drop it right in hook up existing hoses and call it good? or do i need to do the following procedures?

The oil lines for the cooler won't have a place to hook up if you still have them.

i might go with the fbody rad but sounds like i need to get a oil cooler adapter plate too to make it work can this also b bought at autozone? do i need to buy anything else like cooler lines ? adapters ? fittings ? hoses?

i believe i still have the oil cooler lines becuz its a stock rad ive never modified or have changed anything wen it comes to that

I meant, You don't have to get a Oil cooler adaptor(sandwich) to use the F-body radiator. I only did so to install a remote engine oil cooler.(a must IMO)

As for the Transmisson cooler that the F-body has built into it. You can use your stock Transmisson lines to that. I was told just have to slightly bend them a bit to get them to work. I have a remote transmisson cooler so i didn't do so, but will for added cooling.

You can recore your stock radiator if anything. I only upgraded the radiator due to a slip of wrist with a flat head:rolleyes:
Test of fate, After the installed, I was working on something else and slipped with a flat head again. Only to my luck it didn't ding, dent the radiator  stronger.

gonna take some but its nighttime and its with a cell(smartphone tho) but still. My pro digital HD stuff is not charged, timing i know haha.

I hate my SONY HD CAM, I can't find any of their memory sticks i have. Just SD cards GOD #$ it haha.

You get the idea with these pics, i had to use my halogen huskey flashlight, I forgot how much I like that flashlight i could see down the entire street.

It's all spray paint I tell you but thanks.

Yes, that is the oil adaptor. The lines run to the derale (tube and fin.....hey moneys tight) Oil cooler located right in front of my transmison cooler. No, I don't have my T-lines hooked up to the radiator yet. Again it can and has been done tho.

the 86/87 or F body radiator is about 6" wider than the 84/85 radiator, so you will need to redo the mounting setup.
i've got a big 3 core radiator out of a Cutlass in mine that is the same width as the F body or 86/87 TR radiator. i used the top plate out of the Cutlass i took the radiator out of, got a new upper radiator hose, and swapped in an electric fan at the same time.

Oh yes, forgot. You also need a radiator support from a G-body V8. I got one at the junk for 5$ so, not sure others work but would think so. That should be it done with for the Fbody. Electric fan is best to switch now if you have mech IMO.
