Rear Frame Notch Kit

1st off. its 95-100 dgress out right now....

so I'm cooling off a bit,
got all the "stuff" out of the way, you may not need to remove all of this but I'm installing a 9in, and fuel cell, fuel lines, adj uppers, along with new motor and trans ,
any how, hears some pics of tha area to be worked on.
I suggest you install the inner support first, so the frame still has strength when you cut away the outer side,
heres some pics of my fun today

see the fuel lines in the corner of the frame, and brake lines on the other side, be aware when your cutting!
I'd spot the inners in first, trimming as needed, and finish by stitch welding the support in.
there are two holes in the frame ( on the inside) I suggest after you cut the outer frame away, you plug weld thru those 2 holes for more support
also, watch the distance between the inner frame and the spring, use clamps similar to what I'm using to hold the support as close to the frame contour as possible not a good pic, but you can see how close the frame is to the spring

here is the right outer plate clamped in, will tack it and stitch weld it in tomorrow, fits great,
my biggest advice?? steam clean the bottom side real good, I have more dirt in my eyes then I thought possible LOL
I used a plasma cutter to cut everything then ground all the edges so fitment would be good,
more to come,

Rust??????

this a west coast car, whats rust??
I did trim the wheel well, for better access to the frame,
I'll clean it up when I finished. also trimmed the wheel lips,
going to widen the fender wells to fit more tire under the wheel well.
never ending...............

For those who have their frames already notched, and want to buy the Inner Frame Supports. The best I can do on price is $200.00 plus shipping. That will include all the inner braces and the crossbar. I've had a few people inquire about this. Thanks.

Also thanks Cruzn57 for the pics.

I'm working on more pics

just wanted to wait til the temperature got back under 100 degrees!!!!

I hope to finish the one side this weekend, and I'll take more pics,
thanks

If anyone needs a Mud Cat to clean their undercarriage, for this install, we can supply those as well.

We manufacture the Mud Cats in house as well.

Just what are you insinuating??

I agree, its a whole lot easier if you clean it real good!
the other side will show you that, ( I 'm a slow learner!)

more fun

I'm widening the wheel wells also , which make welding the re-enforcement plate alot easier,
heres some pics of frame cut, before welding in outer plate
also some pics of the fire wall you have to have , if the battery is in the trunk,

some of how much room will be in wheel well,
and scary how much you have to cut out to make things fit.
lighter is faster right??

shows that I can fit a 30"x 13" tire INSIDE fenderwell,
its alot of work, and sometimes I think I shoulda had someone else do this.
but I did the same thing to my 57 chevy and now can fit 14 wide tire inside the fender wells,:D
