Well took my car to the track last night to start and do some tuning in the chip etc.Launch car felt good ,then bam, knock hit hit let out and heard a knock everyonce and a while.Shut car off coast around to end of track.Towed home started it up today and hear a rubbing noise everyonce in awhile like metel an metal, coming from turbo.Pulled the intake and grabbed shaft loose as heck. Well its had 2 years of abuse so i guess it is what it is.So know my question is,do the turbo myself or take to place and have it redone? Fins all look streaight just rubbed housing on both sides, intake looks like a little more then exhaust side..... so let me know guys what you think.

I was always told if it rubbed the sides, don't buy the turbo to rebuild it, I know your in a different situation. Good chance if it rubbed the sides the vanes are damaged and the housings, I would send it to someone to have it inspected and go from there, maybe you got lucky...

even if there was no Major damage to the fins and you did rebuild it i would still take it to be properly balanced.... slight differences it fin shape or loss of material could be a problem at 100,000rpm.... like said previously, better safe than sorry... see if you have a local rebuilder with a balancing machine. This would save considerable time and money from shipping back and forth.

Just my opinion
