Charlie it's actually a 12" lockup 2200 stall.

I got the trans back from the shop where I had it repaired today, this is the one I recently bought off the board. All i have to do it clean it up some and it's ready to go again as soon as I get that cross-member and dipstick & tube.

I'm going to keep the 3 speed in the car at first when I get the rest of the fuel upgrades and the new turbo on. Not to change too many things at one time and see how it performs compared to the old combo.
That's the only regret or downside is, I never got the car to a track any track 1/8th or 1/4 mi with the old Frankenstein turbo, and have another baseline ET to see how much was gained or lost by going with the upgrades I have now.:frown:

More goodies and updates on the way soon.

good.... good... I like where this is going... keep us posted.

The converter should hit at least 2800 while you're spooling the turbo. I think you're gonna be suprised when you try to launch her.

It will probably start seeing boost by 2200. If the brakes will hold it, over 3000 rpm is possible with less than 10psi.

I used to launch my stock D5 converter at 15-20 psi to get mid 1.5 60' times.

Thanks Dusty. It gives me some idea of what I'm gonna expect on mine.

Nice lookin stuff! Your going to be pushing some serious power through a 7.5" rear I think!

I think Im going to be in the same boat as you are swapping transmissions, can't imagine my 30yr old TH350 with nothing more than a new filter will last long.

more updates, And Thanks!

First I have to give a big Thanks to Patrick @ precision (RUQWKNF) For supplying me with a part # for the E cover clamp AND for helping me locate the lost package! :D (turns out neighbors were holding it hostage)

Now with that all out of the way, I was able to finish the turbocharger and get it ready to install on the headers. Only thing left is to take the DP out of the car and get the ports opened up to match the Upgrade turbo, Pics of that soon.
In the meantime my column shifter is going to be removed in favor of my new B&M Pro stick shifter. Got a good deal on it with a 4spd gate plate so didn't pass it up. That was mandatory upgrade anyways, my old shifter was broken at the roll pin  and the guy that Dyno'd my car last time said don't bring it back like that.

very cool, id love to have a floor shifter, but my column will do:smile: btw are you still using the 83 valve covers or have you upgraded to aftermarket?

The '85 HA block I put in my car that I run in blowthru configuration is still wearing the original Cast valve covers.. and headgaskets but not the VC gaskets I changed those. 83turbo: Go back a few pages and look at the under hood pic.

Get her done Adam. This time pick a track that has some way to keep time though. I'd really like to see what it's gonna do in the quarter.

I plan on it Charlie, I am curious too. I was about to do that last year but the turbo died on the way home from the dyno. The good news is a brand new 1/8 mile track is opening this summer a couple counties away so that be my closest track now. The closest 1/4 mile tracks are Pittsburgh Raceway Park, Mason Dixon, or Maryland International. The flashlight drags are the closest, but no times:mad:.

The closest track to me is around 30 or so miles. Not that far but getting time to go is the issue for me. The closest 1/8 mile track is further away than the 1/4 nile track. Talk about ironinc.

youre in the middle texas... hate to say it im not suprised:rolleyes: The nearest drag strip around here is in Roy, about a 45 minute drive but its privatley owened and doesnt host alot of races. Kent raceway is the next one, about 25 miles away, ands is like a motorpark, with a track course, and a dragstrip that hosts races almost daily. everyonce in awhile you spot a few "Illegal street racers" at the track racing... (which is probably good) i was gonna take my lincoln to the track just to see what it can do (and fyi, it does run right:biggrin:) once i get my buick going thats where ill be taking my car instead to the so called "drag strip" at the port of tacoma... (very illegal)

Yes yes Good good. The last parts came in today to have the complete 4 spd swap: c-member and dipstick&tube. No pics taken to post, everyone knows what those look like anyways or should since your on the inter-web and all. Can't wait to get the new turbo and fuel stuff installed and see what this older tech turbo has for pull. I HOPE it makes the car a little louder (or more than a little) others have told me before that it's a bit quiet even with the full 3" exhaust and cutout open. This turbo has a much bigger turbine wheel than the old turbo's stock wheel, so with that and the larger turbine housing outlet it's got to sound better than before, I know it's going to breathe better this time lol.

It's time!

It's on again! Got rid of and paid on my side job. :D
So Got the DP off and matched my template over it to determine how much material to remove, then made short work of it with a steady hand and carbide bit. Then it wasn't long after that I had the PT53 installed, sections adjusted and secured all of the hardware and charge piping/intake and the oil drain and supply. I went ahead and started with the fuel system upgrades and I'll be posting those up later on.

Fuel system upgrade.

Well I just finished upgrading the fuel system, The blowthru project is now running twin fuel pumps one 68GPH and one 43GPH pump and twin pressure regulators. The 43GPH pump supply's the N20 system and I installed a pre-pump inline filter with a check valve the other 68GPH pump is for the engine fuel only. I ran both pumps one at a time and was successful in having no leaks so then I set the fuel pressure's and called it good. I wanted to start it up but I still have the DP off. However tomorrow I do have to get back under there and run a new power wire to the N20 fuel pump that will turn it on when the N20 system is armed. Probably seems a bit overboard/unnecessary for most people but it's going to work out for my plans with this particular car.
Yes the Regal is grungy underneath it's my rust proofing from leaky oil/trans fluid being bathed for years.
