Is it a common 'trick' to use a early (mid-70's) servo from a TH200 to increase 1-2 shift firmness?

TIA

Chris,

Thanks for the quick reply! Does this servo setup work better than even the original GN servo?

yes and in my opinion even those super servos too.it is designed properly and doesnt suffer from 2/3 bind up problems like many other designs .i like the gn 694 too but it doesnt have enough apply area resulting in reduced clamping loads at the drum.hard shifts are not just what its about ,it increases durability in a poorly calibrated circuit designed for passenger car usage.www.ckperformance.com

Thanks! I will call tomorrow and see if you have any in stock.:D

Just installed my Two piece servo with wide piston out of an old 200 3speed and it kicks ass.Great trans mod and easy, good luck.

I have the super servo in there now, will this make it shift harder or softer? Trans shifts real hard but too hard for me at part throttle.

if you want a slightly more pleasant shift definately get rid of that super servo .you will not lose any holding power with the 112 piston and cover however youll love the shift without the annoying bang and 2/3 bindups .if you cant find one call the shop .718784 4256.www.ckperformance.com

What cars have these servos? I have access to some old 200 trannies, but i believe they are from Regals and other GM mid size cars. I need a bigger servo. I have the tranny from my 85GN in my 87 and I know it needs a bigger servo. I'm on vacation right now so i have plenty of time to look for the cars with these servos. BTW, can you get these from a local auto parts store?

I'm running an 'antique' servo. My tranny guy used scarf cut teflon rings. It shifts fine, no problems, but you mentioned some lip seals that work on that piston.

Ya got some?

Bob

What parts do you need exactly? Is it just the servo or are there seals or any other parts needed? I wanna get everything at once...one stop shopping:D
