A buddy of mine gave me NEW in box B&M shift kit for the 200-4R(. He had a monte carlo SS. He swap to a 350trans,didn't need it anymore . Which mode is best, Street/strip or heavy duty? I race here and there, nothing hardcore, mostly cruz.

If You want an upgrade for your TB transmission, go with heavy duty. Turbo cars already have a shift from the factory as did many other vehicles such as the 454SS trucks.

nice phone there. I was thinking HD, buddy would gave it to me told me the SS could wear out the tranny. thanks btw

I will also agree with the two posts above. Chris knows what he's doing with the tranny and is the only one currently doing research on how to make them work better.

Give me a call; I will explain how to make that kit work correctly for your needs. It wasn't the best designed kit, but with a few changes it will make the trans work as intended for your purpose...

Most of us transmission builders are doing research and development daily whether a vendor or not. Your statement is misleading and untrue. As you know, we all do things differently. Please be courteous to the rest of us hard working builders (when you post here) who go out of their way each day to provide a quality product and/or customer support. Thank you.

Not trying to show that you're not one of the tranny guys that has helped any of us David, but Chris has helped me quite a bit and I've seen some of the work he's done. I don't know him personally but hope to meet both of you at one of the race meets soon. I don't mean anything other than Chris has posted the info as well as pics about what he's been doing to develop parts for the 200R4 trannies. I agree that you know what you're doing but you're not on very much and when you are all you say is "contact me". Chris always offers info if you need it as well as saying "there are several guys that can help you". Please don't take this as disrespect because I do not mean it this way. It's just that Chris has been very helpful, even when the shop is closed and he's not there. Michelle, his wife, has answered and given me his number so I can talk to him if I have a problem. That's service to me and I will support him if I need parts or info. Please do not take this as any kind of slap David. I respect what you do but there are only 2 tranny guys that I will take my parts to and the other one is in Texas, about 100 miles North of me. Granted that's a small distance in Texas but if I was closer to NYC I'd be visiting Chris on a regular basis just to see what's going on in his shop.

No offense is taking in any way. My post was a correction to your post and I am sorry that you have read it with some offense. My post had nothing to do with Chris from CK.

I am an old school businessman, I believe in true customer service; speaking to a person directly instead of this one-dimensional world...I always have time for phone calls. My “contact me” is an invitation to call anytime till midnight. I do not have time to be in front of a computer always as I am extremely busy running my companies. I am working on a professional website right now; time permitting and it should fill up with tech info and the hard parts that will be needed. No time frame as to its launch.<O:p</O:p

I am sincerely happy for you that you have found a builder and an information/parts source you can trust to help you with your transmission. Once again, no offense has been taken at all.

No further correspondence.

RegalT-type85, I apologize for this conversation going on in your thread.

X2 on that. Glad to hear that they're no bad feelings David.

None taken:cool:

Thanks. I wasn't tring to cause an issue and David is one of the "gurus" with trannys here. Never ment to step on his toes so I'm sorry. I'm very particular and selective so take it for what it's worth.

FWIW i had an out of the box B&M shift kit on my trans and it worked good, nice firm shifts.

BTW Husek i'd like to stop by your shop soon. i'll give you a call next week some time.
