We ran Chris Hogeland's car very similiar to this car. Stock crank and rods with TRW pistons, out of the box GN1's, 212/206, Limit P trim 70mm, Precision front mount, 9.5 converter. It went 6.2's at 112-114. I'm sure that's 9.80's.

More like 9.50

It should see the 9.80-9.90s with that power / weight / tire. I notice there is no "9 sec passes then drive on trailer" option :)

Or drive home because someone elses junk exploded and needed the trailer. Lol

I expect to see the 9.80 video tomorrow so it will confirm that I need another PTC converter for my street car. very similiar combo to yours but 6768 turbo, e85, and 255-60 MT radial and made 575rwhp on a mustang dyno, but was blowing through the precision converter. Drove it to the track, and off the footbrake went 10.20 @ 129 again blowing through the converter. Was at 6000rpm to go 129mph.... :(

Champion aluminum heads ( cleaned up-not race ported)

Something is telling me that this statement isn't exactly communicating the truth.....OH its my bullshidt alert mechanism.
So what exactly needs to be 'Cleaned Up' on Champion heads? All that pesky aluminum in the way of larger better flowing passages huh?
I wish you guys the best of luck, performance, and results.

Champion GN1's as cast, are exactly that cast. The bowl area has some blending that can be done around the seats, and seats to chamber can be smoothed. The ports can be opened up some to match the stock valley tray. A full port job removes so much material, the head bolt holes need to be sleeved.

The bowls are blended and the short turn worked a little. The heads flow considerably more than this engine will ever use. I'm not using a tray gasket on this. There is really no other head that will make more power on here. It takes boost and a higher CR with more cam to get more

On the schedule it says no slicks, is that going to be a problem?

That's for street night. The cut off for that is 11.50. This car will run that letting off at 500'. I'll Be in the test and tune lanes. I'll be a problem to anyone who is in the other lane.

So I gather no rollbar. Why not a glory run one and out? Letting out at 500' is a dry hump.

I believe he will be running it out the back unless the rods are scared of the dark. Looks like he was just emplying that in order to run 11.50s he would have to let out at the 500 foot....

The car has a cage and may well end up driving home if someone elses car breaks.

The heads were cleaned up by Russ Merritt last year, just as Brian stated. They ARE NOT
Champion CNC ported heads.

The car does have alky but will be running race fuel, most likely C16 to be safer.

I do not own a video camera, just the one on my EVO phone. So that will be as good as the video gets.
The track may or may not be there, this will most likely be hte deciding factor of the 300 being
good enough for a 9 sec pass. Being that Lebanon Valley is in the Mountains we also will be fighting the altitude.

If these two guys are involved 9's for sure if the track is any good. When did you put the cage in Brian? Assume we are talking about the blue car?? Pics are a must if you can't do video. For the naysayers better get a shot of the car with the clocks. Good luck and be safe.

hello; I don't know what kind of racing as if it's an event or just a test and tune. But I do believe the Cottons boys go to that track alot. Maybe there already going but I'd give em a call and see if they could show up and add to the fun.
I won't be there. But a video of the two would be cool.

The dry hump would best 95% of the cars that will be there. I'm making full passes if it hooks. The car has a cage done by JW Fabrication and is good down to 8.50

You couldn't be more correct.

This is the black car. I doubt I'll ever run the blue car again. No bar in that one and I already know what it will run. I'm hoping the engine stays together. If it does there will be no disappointment. One thing I can assure is that it's not going to run 10's and go back on the trailer. So far 12 people are wrong.

Anyone is welcome to come.

Ah, though you were talking about the blue car with no rollbar. I've seen the pics of the black car on JW Fabrication's site. Impressive work.

Well I'm leaving work at noon, driving 4 hours, meeting my cousin in Broadalbin, riding down with him and his WE4. Providing it doesn't rain... I would definitley like to meet you and Otto. Wish I could bring my car, but my truck has a 180,000 plus miles, and that's a haul in a half ton GMC and a 24ft. trailer!!! See you there!!! No rain!!!
