What is a decent brand hose with a good fitting selection probably do teflon be using some for fuel lines? Anyone mess with the Frozenboost stuff i hear decent things about their line just dont know about the China made stuff which their stuff is! Also where is the best place to buy hose?
Chris

I have an Earls dealer about 2 miles from me, so I normally go there - with lots of $$.

Oh i know it ain't cheap! I was looking at Aeroquip but there fitting selection is not good I also looked at Fragola i hear them talked about quite a bit!
Chris

Anything wrong with the Jeg's branded stuff? I'm planning to use the Jeg's pro-flo hose and fittings for my spring fuel system project.

An fitting direct and frozenboost are the same they are linked together on the sites i will check out the other one though!

Standrad braided AN hose will smell up your garage is used for fuel. It seeps vapors. Use TFE (teflon) syle hose for fuel systems. Fragola is developing a new liner for their hose, but not positive that it's available. Look into it carefully.

Fragola makes good stuff as does Earls, Aeroquip, I just received some of the AN Direct product yesterday, making a PS line tonight, fittings look fine I will see how it does !
Definitely cheaper, but you know the old saying.....

As of right now i need some hose for my air lines so being rubber would not matter for that but when i need some for my fuel bridges it will be teflon all the way! I did see that Norbs uses the AN direct/Frozenboost line and recommended it to others i may get some for the air lines and check the quality out!

fabbed my Hydroboost PS line tonight from the AN Direct pcs, it is holding pressure fine.

Fitting quality was good what agravates me about a lot of the fittings lately is the non standard hex size, never seems to fit the wenches right.
The teflon is more of a pain than standard and this hose does not work like the Aeroquip or Eaton stuff, the line seemed stiffer also, possibly a thicker teflon wall

Wow the parts are holding on the Hydroboost lines are you using it on the pressure side and the return side? They didn’t recommend using them on anything over 500psi and the HB can go over 1k in psi. I wanted to use all black hoses on my car but couldn’t find black hoses rated for power steering pressure.

For the next couple of days anyway, still waiting on my olives and new -6 line to show up from Hydratech.
Car has not left the jackstands, it seems to like being on display...

I wanted to try it on my HB but chickened out. so your not going to keep it on its only a temp hose?

Not true, well sort off.

The MTBEs in pump gas perminate the hose. Race gas does not. I have personal experience with this.

All hose is made by Parker or Gates......Earls, Fragola, Goodridge, XRP is all made by one of the companies.

I'm 100% sure my pump gas car with all Aeroquip TFE fuel feed and return hose doesn't smell like gas in the garage. The TFE is also much easier to deal with than rubber in my noob experience trying to put hose ends on the first few times. I used a vise with slices of used serpentine belt to soften the vise to squeeze the hose to cut the steel (wrapped in tape at the cut point) with a cutoff wheel. Then used a razor knife to cut the inner liner to prevent debris from going in the tube.

Billy, Thanks for your input. (didn't know about only two manufacturers, most of our hoses in aviation are made by Aeroquip (Eaton))
There is alot of info on the web about fuel fumes seeping from braided hose. Not sure if the race gas, vs. pump gas is the culprit, but will take your word for it.
So......If you run pump gas, THEN use TFE hose. DON'T kink it or it's ruined where the kink is. Go easy on the radius of the stuff and handle it carefully on installation. When I make up hoses (in either material) I solvent clean the interior of the hose, then blow a string through it and pull a gun cleaning patch (dipped in solvent) through the entire length of completed hose and repeat until the patch comes out clean. You will be amazed at how dirty that stuff is. I've got lots of scars from making/installing braided hose on aircraft and race cars for 30+ years.
