I started a thread in the transmission section, but I haven't received any experience/opinions yet...

How does a stock cam work with a 2800 stall? I want a converter that will work with the next turbo, not just my te44, as well as a lock up, but I'm concerned about the slip at my 5k shift point as I run it open at the strip. Anyone running a 2800 stall with a stock cam? I'd like to know hot it works on the street, especially with alky, and some track times if you have them. Dusty provided me with some great explanation regarding slip in a lu vs a non-lu converter. Thanks for the help!

I'd say most if not everyone running 10's with a stock cam are locking the converter at WOT so the stall rating isn't really a factor.

A very efficient non lock can run 10's with a stock cam. Any 9.5 or 10" lock-up will have issues coupling 10 second power with a 5100-5200 shift point unless it's locked at WOT.

I appreciate all the help Dusty. I'll be getting the converter from you. I'd still like to hear from anyone that is actually running a stock cam with a lu 2800 unlocked at the track. Anyone?
