Ahhh the world of a pushrod engine, I am learning alot and I feel I have to excuse myself because I grew up on an OHC application so all of this stuff is kind of new to me.
Anyway, taking apart the top half and I am just making sure I have my basic principles inline as to how the valve train operates. Specifically lifters for a stock application.
First can we call these lifter types fixed?
Second is there any sort of pumping action in the actual lifter itself, and this causes oil to travel up the pushrod or is it simply delivered based on pressure generated by the oil pump?
3rd and finally is there any sort of mechanism within the lifter that can fail?
Thanks for everyones patience.
