Purchased a Samsung SDS-P5102. Simple to plug in get it up and running. It has 720TVLs. The problem is ......... The point of this system is to identify a person and his actions.....possible license plate numbers. On the box it shows the license plate for aprox 30 feet. I put a plate about 20 feet away and can NOT get and accurate read on the plate. Also at night the night vision just show a bright blob where the plate should be. I stood in front of the camera at the same distance and can not make out any detailed facial features. Think I have it on the highest resolution settings. Anyone have some advice? Thanks in advance.

Take it back??
It's going back......... any recommendations on a BRAND? We need 8 cameras. Two will be outside. Six inside. Will be in an unmanned business that operates 24hrs. The cameras will be mounted about 20' high to keep crack heads from messing with them. It needs to have a minimum of one week of recording at the max resolution. The resolution needs to be able to identify a persons face and license plate at aprox 40 to 50 feet. Any recommendations?

How about a local security consultant? They should be able to show you the quality of their products.
