Suspension Limiting Straps?

[1986 Buick GX1]

I'm surprised at how narrow the bar is. I would think a wider bar that positions the end links as close to the axle ends would be more beneficial.

Obviously it is a sound design though.

A wider bar has to be larger in diameter to be as effective as a narrow bar with a smaller diameter, whatever suits your needs/ taste.

[A wider (longer) bar is easier to twist, therefore needs to thicker to resist the twist.
A narrower (shorter) bar is harder to twist so it doesn't need to be as thick.]
