Well, nothing ever works out perfect. I got in the car drove it down the road, hit the gas...10psi max.:o

Brought it back home, gave the WG a few turns...14psi. :o

Brought it back again. Tightened the WG as much as I could...16psi.

It felt better, but not good enough. I started wondering if I had some sort of other problem, like the puck not closing all the way. I disconnected the vacuum line to the WG, and took it for another spin. Watching the boost very, very closely (ready to take my foot out of it)...It had no problem climbing up to 20psi (and still climbing pretty quickly).

I let out of it at 21 psi. Let me tell you, past 20psi, I could literally (no bullsh#t) feel this damn turbo COME ALIVE!

I'm going to pick me up a HD wastegate (16psi + spring), and some bigger injectors.

The TCS (from CKPerformance) billet 9x11 3400 stall converter fits this turbo perfect.

sounds like thats gonna be a pretty sick setup once you get it all tuned in man. Good luck with it.:D

That is a good turbo that you have. I usta run one on my car. They like higher boost levels when racing 30-32#'s. Should be enough for mid 10's with good traction. good luck buddy :)

That's how my 64 was. It definately pulled harder than the 49 at normal boost levels but once it hit around 20psi it came alive. It was literally like a small nitrous shot once it hit the 20s.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It felt like a 50hp shot of nitrous when it hit 20psi.

I have the same turbo/converter combo as you and its great. good luck with it.

The T63E and the TE63 are great turbos and probably should be on more cars. About 9 years or so ago the 63's where considerd one of the bad boy turbos to run. They're a great choice for low 11 to high 10 second cars. They will also work good on cars a little slower or faster than that range. The 63's also seam to hold up very well and last a long time. At the time when I bought my old T63E it was the smallest of the big shaft turbos offered by PTE (not sure if it still is). I think the heavy duty guts of the big shaft package with the mildly sized wheels of the 63 make it an excellent street strip turbo with good durability.

What turbine housing are you running on it?
