TA 6466

That's excess silicone that they used on the inlet bell to seal it to the compressor housing. Just use a knife and clean it up
 
Over the years I've bought 4 precision turbos. 3 of the 4 had to go back for quality problems. 2 of those 3 never even made it onto the car before they were returned.

I have had three new ones
6765 was perfect DBB

6768 went on car and literally came apart and the compressor ate into housing

This one above looks ok other than sloppy assembly which I should be able to fix


So I got 1 good out of 3

I am under the impression that PTE lost some of the market years back because of QA issues... Many switched to BW. So PTE introduced the Gen 2 to try to take the market back.
