I called up and asked about buying a set of heavy duty rocker arm shafts, new rockers, buttons and hold downs. The guy says, hey we have a kit for you with all those items, so I purchase that. I receive the kit in the mail and put everything together. The shafts are AFU. Especially one shaft that had crappy tolerances on the hold down bolt holes. I call TAP and speak with the owner who states I was sent stock rocker shafts. I specifically asked for the heavy duty shafts, and relay this info to the owner. He says he will send out the heavy shafts if I pay for them now, and then I am to send the stock shafts back. He will refund me $30 per shaft (their normal cost), plus the cost of shipping (since it wasn't my mistake in the first place), as soon as he receives the shafts back. That way I'm not out any money. I say great! Good deal. Cool.

I get the heavy duty shafts. I already had the stockers removed and boxed. The stockers go out the same day I receive the new heavy duty ones. Over a month goes by and no refund. I call and am immediately transfered to the owner, who proceeds to essentially accuse me of switching out the stock shafts for some sub-standard shaft. I explain I have sent back to him exactly what I received. He continues to piss and moan about how he doesn't know who the manufacturer is on these shafts I sent back to him, and that he's going to eat the cost because he can't re-sell them. I clearly explain that I have no idea what's good, what's bad, and where I would get substandard shafts. I explain that I didn't even know I DIDN'T have heavy duty shafts in the first place, and have only owned my buick for a year. He finally agrees to refund the money (again).

A week passes and I still have not been refunded my money. I call again and speak with a female who indicates I will be credited back $30 plus my shipping. I advise her of the situation and the fact that I was told I would be refunded the cost of both of the shafts, $60. The female says, no, I'm going to be refunded $30 + shipping, per the owners instructions. At this point it's clear I'm not going to get anywhere with these people, and they apparently can't keep their word.

The money shows in my account, and just as she promised TA Performance has ripped me off for $30 based on their original screw up, their lie about the refund, and there stalling, and accusations that I ripped THEM off.

I may be relatively new to the buick community, but I can assure you I will not be purchasing anything from this crap company. You lie to me you are done. You accuse me of lying to YOU, you're done. You rip me off, you're done. TAP = crap customer service. So for $30 you have lost thousands of dollars in parts that I will not purchase from you. Good luck.

That sucks man. Have no experience with them but I did have to go through my credit card company to get a refund from another vendor who liked to charge you for items that they didn't have. If you don't have the part, don't charge me, and better yet, don't tell me it was already sent and then not return my calls.

Sorry about the rant. Can you get your money back through your credit card company?

the best way i think to get parts from them is to go threw nick at Arizonagn.com you will be taken care of trust me.

Sounds like you got the shaft.

:) Reading the story, I knew that this comment was just a matter of time!

Deal with Nick for TA stuff. You won't regret it. BTW - there is a Feedback section of the site for this type of problem, too.

Can't figure this one out!

With all the money TA performance is bringing in, one would think that a $30.00 mixup would not be a big deal at all. Maybe the knock off headers are hurting them more than I thought! SS Sean u sound like a standup guy and I hope U get this matter worked out.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of Nick? I e-mailed him 3 times & haven't heard back. Just making sure he is ok.

yup nick is fine just went and got my motor from him 2 days ago. Sometimes his email doesnt work. best thing is to call.

Rocker Shaft Story

Wow! Heres my expierance when I bought (2) sets rocker arm shafts a few months ago. When I got them there were no rocker arm buttons in the kit with them, just the shafts. So I call to explain to them I didnt get the rocker buttons with the shafts. They clearly list them and show you them on the website. They at first tell me they "know" they were put in the box when shipped. Immediatly implying that Im tryin to rip them off for 2 sets of $10 dollar rocker buttons. I had to explain that "no there wasnt any in the package and no the box wasnt opened or damaged and they could not have fallen out, they simply werent in there". In short they did finally agree to send me the buttons after they felt convinced I didnt get them... it took like another week but I finally got them after going on trial for a half hour on the phone. Its safe to say I probably wont deal with them again unless I have NO other option.

Sorry to hear your problem with TA however i ordered the same heavy duty rocker shafts, buttons and rockers. I paid $39.00 for arms or shaft and $39.00 for rocker kit, the service was great and the parts were as ordered. Again sorry to hear your problem.

I'm very sorry about the incident, too. There are no winners here.

I would email the owner if he could kindly make things right by refunding you the $30.00 dollars and tell him you understand that mistakes are made. I would continue to email him until he gives in..

Some vendors don't understand that its the little gestors Make a big difference in being a happy buyer or an unhappy buyer.
