OK- It was 1335 S. Houston Ave, Humble, Tx(I knew there was a "Houston" in there somewhere). I DID say OVER six years ago on the 7s. It's been that long since I've had the pleasure of dealing with you(and I've slept since then ;) ). HEY- You've earned the props!!

I don't get it, every one is talking about the WRX going 12's off the floor but they can never keep up with me on the street and the last time I was at the track, I swear they weren't getting anywhere near the 12's in 1/4. Maybe they eeked out a 12 sec run with a stock STI? Personally, I'm more impressed with the DSM cars and I do kina like the SRT-4's. Iv'e seen those run 11's. Am I rambling?
This is a case of, "I read it in an article and (my bad) believed it!" Motor Trend did a comparison on a number of vehicles last year, and were claiming 12s for the WRX. My personal experience has been that the drivers usually can't get the cars to hook right, out the gate(SRT-4s and WRXs), then have to play, "try and catch up."

Better? In what way is it "better"? If you like ricers- it might be better for you. Stupid-ru has a car(with all the personality of a sponge in my eyes) that goes 12s off the showroom floor(WRX). That would be better for some. They(NO DOUBT) handle and stop better. If it gets better gas mileage- it's better that way. Larry Conley built his T/R('Tweaked') to go 7.75/178.98 mph in the quarter, before aerodynamics started working against him, so: we know we can get these RWD bricks to hook and run into the sevens. That would be fast enough for me(IF I had the jack, and the need be that quick). I said all that to say: "better" is purely up to an individual's way of thinking. For me personally: the T/R is "better." I can tune it to go as fast/quick as I'll ever want(without having to sell the house/Harley/firstborn male child), I love the body style(always have), it's a great sleeper, comfortable to sit in, there aren't 20,000 others running the streets, it's ALL American(even if some of the fasteners are metric)- and I don't have any desire to be associated with the ricers(the majority are knobs in this neighborhood and show it constantly). BUT: that's just me ;) !!!

You my friend, are retard.. ive never ever seen a supra more than once a month on the street letalone what it can do!!! talking ofcourse of the mkiv-tt model..

Just wondering... Is your spacebar and shift key broken or do you actually have sub 3rd grade english skills? Why don't you be a man and try to act like your face to face with him instead of being so brave behind that keyboard like a little boy? Totally uncalled for,I don't see any reason for this response reading his post, lighten up or go to the ricer boards and post that type of disrespectful crap.Maybe you need to have a disabled person in your family so you can be really cool and call him\her a retard too.

Before you refer to anyone as being, "retard"(I'm assuming you meant, "retarded"- you might(at least) try using your spell-check(IF you can find the button),learn how to use apostrophes, capital letters and properly space you words. You might further not indicate that you can't handle the Supra's power(per the wreck in you sig). I was referring to Ricers in general, have seen plenty of Supras in this area and don't really care if there were only ten of that particular model were built. The TR is STILL BETTER FOR ME!!! As said: a matter of preference(that means: "Ah jest likes 'em better", in case you don't get it).

Don't be so close minded. I hate ricers as much as anyone else but the MKIV Supras usually don't fall into that category. I see them about as often as I see a GN which is just about never. They can't compete with the GNs in cost vs 1/4 times but there are a lot of fast ones around regardless. A lot of Supras don't run great times given their hp but watch out for the TH400 cars. Not all of them are slow off the line. I've run into a few cocky misguided kids with Supras and spanked them but their crowd generally gives ours a lot of respect.

Hell, I ended up meeting a couple cute 18yr old girls who chased me down for a race in their mother's TT Supra. They didn't know what my car was but turns out they were chasing down anything that sounded loud or looked fast that night. They hit it first, I blew by (stock Supra, modded GN), I saw the female passenger and figured it was her boyfriend driving and to my astonishment the driver was a girl who made me pull over to see what I had in my car. Did I mention they were cute?

Most of the responses (thus far) have agreed that it's a matter of preference. That's NOT closed-mindedness! If everyone had the same tastes- it'd be a REALLY boring world. I, personally, don't(and didn't say I did) "hate" Ricers(which, being a Harley rider for the past 40yrs, to me connotes: anything that comes from Asia). I just don't want to be associated with them(and, as stated: the majority of them at that). I've gotten acquainted with few that are serious about performance. One snuck up on me with a completely stock appearing Talon (low tens), another had an RX-7 with an LS-1 stuffed in it- IF hybrids count(we ran dead even, which surprised the hell out of him :D ). If rarity were the weightiest factor in this discussion: I suppose the AC Cobra(the aluminum original, NOT a knock-off) that Shelby built(wouldn't matter which engine) would have to be the all time "best" for me(talk about a pipe dream  ). To clarify my original post: I never said there were 20,000 of anything else in particular out there(I DID have rice in general on my mind), just that there aren't 20,000 TRs. Obviously: there are those that read what I said, but didn't understand what I meant. How's that for rambling ;) ?

Get hold of Lawrence Conley at Conley's Performance Plus(Houston, Tx). He was doing 7s over six years ago. I'm certain he could give you the details. ;)
I would agree, and while your there, check out "Fear", the turbo alone with scare the bajesus!@# out of ya, haha, kidding. But Conley would give good info on the matter :D

I agree Rodman9999, the Gn just hits me where no other car does. I like the Supra's too, but definitly prefer the killer, get out of my way looks of the GN

I really do love and respect the GN, the T/R, and the TT/A but you have to have some respect for the Supra too.

There are quite a few fast Supra's out there.

I do know for a fact that not all of the fast ones are on this list of the top 100 or even want to be on this list...

My guess is: the car in the video isn't a daily driver. A 10 second Eclipse, a Talon, and a couple Mustangs locally have earned my respect(all daily drivers). All have way more money in their cars than I do, and I don't desire to own(except maybe to sell) any of those cars. "Respect" and preference("better" for me-the theme of this thread) are two entirely different concepts. IF I had the need, time and jack, I could make my '93 Geo Prizm(winter beater for the last 6yrs, and YES: made by Toyota) do 6s, dropping the body on a Chevette frame, and installing a slightly modded T/R drivetrain. For me(personally): that's a "why bother" thing. I'd just have to go out and find another dependable beater. "Better" connotes want/need/practical in my world(that kinda stuff). There are a number of things out there people do that I think of as a waste of time. I'm certain those people would say(as I have for a LONG time now): "If I have to explain- you wouldn't understand!!" ;)

so I once heard a joke that went something like...

what do a 500 hp and 800 hp Supra have in common?

timeslips.

all in good fun  I do like Supras for what they are, gotta respect them, but their market value is really high.

and I agree with a lot of the comments that stock WRX's are not that fast. Seen a lot of kids with them at the track running 14.5's. Most of those car magazines launch them around 5000+ rpm to lay down some impressive numbers for their magazine article.

flamesuit on for the people who quote this and claim I am "hating" on one type of car :p

Its cool, I "hate" on supras all day long. most of the owners are just cocky a$$holes to begin with. I think I am going to get a sticker that says "supras hate me" if I ever get my car running

To hate or drive what we choose is a perogative we still possess in this country. I have the freedom to choose a Buick(and not speak japanese/german) because of the people that gave their lives in WWII. THAT I respect ;) !! Where can I get one of those flamesuits?(that'd be hot at the strip!)
