I see that the yaller car made it into the Lead page of the GMHT, July 11 issue.
Nice coverage of last yrs GS Nats....
NE1 know if Scotty Liverman still owns the car???

Yep..

Chuck wasnt that your car?

Can't remember exactly when I built it..Early 90's, I think. I ran it w/ a Ruggles 109 engine in it. [Til the driver couldn't keep his hands off the boost controller, and scattered it, at a tnt in Reynolds.]
I sold the car to Jack Pendzemus, in Minneapolis. He put the 252 stage in it, and ran w/ Bob "Petersin", and the "STAR Productions" gang for a few yrs. He sold it to Scotty. Scotty picked it up at the Buick race at 141...
I was right proud when Jack got the mag article w/ the SR-71 Blackbird, and won best engineered at a div NHRA race...

I've not been to the BG Nats for several yrs, and lost track of the car. Nice to see it's still chuggin' along!:D

That car every time I watched it go 1320 .it left and went so straight .Always a clean pass !never cut up or missed it looked so easy watching that thing

Chuck I had no idea that was your car, NICE. Alan Liverman owns it, Scotty is his son. He is in Ahoskie NC where my dealership is.

Nick, I'm still "chuggin along", but it's evident CRS is setting in. Can't remember Alan vs Scott!
Shane,
I built the car w/ a S&W cage kit.[moly]. It was a ft end damaged T-Type that I got from the local jy. [He gave me an undamaged frame.]
The chassis was fixture built, in my home based shop. It worked well, and took 1 adj session on the 4 link.
I think that performance is based on: Measure til the tape is worn out, cut once!:D:D

Still "chuggin along" doesn't mean I could do another car like that.."Pretzel positioning" of the body, to make the welds won't work, any longer!;)

Thanks for the kudos...

I like how GMHTP made it sound like you don't know what you were/are doing. They claimed that you build a hell of a chassis but didn't understand the electronics and grenaded the engine on the first outing. Do they actually do research before printing? I had a friend who worked for HotRod and he liked to get things right so as not to look like a dumbass. :D

They got a "note" about their literary license...
I see so much of that stuff, it's makes 1 wonder if some of them even have a dr license!!
I sold my 55 Chevy, [WOW winner], to some a$$hat, here near Atlanta..The car had already been in GMHT. He gets it re-shot by the SAME guy that did the first spread.
This time, he had built the car and retained me as a "consultant". He couldn't hook up the remote jumper cables, after he let the batt go t/u. THEN, called me and got mouthy..:D

A real car guy... NOT!;)
