Owen and Sophia were born into this world on Thursday of last week. It has been a loooooong week.
To start, being twins they were one week and four days premature. We were put into the labor and delivery wing of the hospital, which is like the nicest hotel you have ever stayed in for less than $500 a night. Then they moved them to the NICU for a day to monitor breathing. Owen vomited up a little green crap which is not good (bile). Then they moved them back in with us after a spinal tap and a bunch of other tests. Owen then failed his car seat test and we were required to buy a car bed. After that we were moved to the pediatrics wing where Owen failed the car bed test. Then he started to lose blood oxygen. The whole time Sophia, which is a cool pound less in weight is doing fine and eating like a champ. Owen then has to go through a bunch of other tests and at this point we are starting to lose our resolve. Yesterday they moved both of them back to the NICU where they should have never left. We were discharged and forced to go home to rest (which was the best thing that could have happened at this point. This morning we were called to come pick up Sophia, she had started to gain weight and was cleared. It killed my wife to break up the twins, but she knew it had to be done. Tomorrow we go to pick up the boy.....soo glad this is coming to an end and we can get back to life as we know it.
They are adorable and I can't wait to share my life with them. Thanks for putting up with my mostly meaningless posts these past seven days or so. This site was a godsend and really got my mind off of things.
Thanks to everyone who wished well for us, it means a lot to us.
So now I will be in the market for three TR's......they won't be showing up to high school in a citation.
Thanks again guys and gals.
