thinking about a TR6 - coil options?

not sure what the ecm has to do with it ?
stock ecm ( and tried back up one ) has a TT chip
.032 NGK
all sensors are new grounds good no error codes, no MAF error code, new wires from Bob, with TR 6
new plugs, no etc etc. all the normal stuff checked that we always check not my first time or GN

I ordered another coil pack, was wondering if the unit caused the secondary winding to burn out of the coil
I replaced the CCI connector on the engine harness just in case, reason was when I moved the harness
with all installed it died, then started it up and would not make it around the block.

fuel pressure looks ok watched it with 2 gauges as it died, sounds like ignition issue
starts up gets warmer then stalls.

When I first installed this unit, all 4 leds lit up making me think all sensors were synced up.

starts up gets warmer then stalls.

I ask about the ECU because mine was stumbling on desolation a little and with a few key strokes that took care of it (XFI in ma case).

The stalling after warm up sounds like either a crank sensor or maybe a vacuum leak.

Send the unit back to Bob Bailey, with the coil. He will test it, he may even put it on his car. Then you will have your another. Bob is a great guy he can figure it out if it's tr6/coil related.

The black wire needs an engine ground, the coil will work without that tab grounded. The coil/module grounds through the stock bracket to the intake then the block. I just run a ground to the bottom of the TR6?module and directly to intake stud....direct engine ground...not the body. Redundant grounds are just fine on these picky ass Buicks.

These threads are funny.if someone wants to swap coils cool it's your ride.however make no mistake the stock coil pack and module can easily handle low 8 sec passes.ive spun clear over 7200 with big boost and alot of fuel on an autozone module and coilpack.

On another note you can see see on a log how the module and coilpack are performing or on a dyno.

Bobs TR6 is an incredible system. After spending a day playing with it there is no freaking way Id run stock ignition. Bob answered several questions by email and is top shelf. Probably the best engineered product for our cars ive ever seen.

I read that the stock ignition has made 10,000 hp on a 109 with stock crank, but the TR6 has some really nice features that the stock ignition doesn't have. Some of these features no longer make it a cool guy part imo.

Bought TR6 unit with delco d955a coil pack, have not got it to work yet. It starts then dies out.
chasing the problem down still. Lots of people promote it here.
Can't wait to drive my car again.

Did you ever figure out why it died? Mine just installed and does the same thing. Help?!

I swapped my stock module/Type-II coil set up for a TR6/D955A set up and was able to increase my plug gap from .020' to .030"....maybe I had a bad part causing me to require a tight gap before but I took it as the new set up provided a stronger spark.
