i have been searching for a couple days now for a throttle valve cable for a TT/A. i dont understand why its a difficult part to find. im just not that great of an internet searcher i guess. one of the retaining clips that hold it to the bracket by the plenum is busted off. it wiggles a little. not sure how much that effects the shifts but i want it replaced anyways. I called a local Buick dealership today- $189 for a TV cable. TCI has a universal one for $37.37. TCI TV Cable its kind of towards the bottom of the page.
i know dealerships have a lot of mark up on their parts but that seems like a huge difference.

who else carries the TV cable that is SPECIFIC to a TT/A? or will this universal 700r4&2004R work on our cars?

If you have the part#, you can try gmpartsdirect.com if none of the supporting vendors have it.

GM part #

I recently purchased a GM TV cable for my 200 4R. I got it for $23. from my local GM Parts Dept.
I was given the part # on another site, it works great. its 39" long.
This maybe for carbed car though, if it matters! GM# 25515598

from GMpartsdirect.com that cable with that part # is only $10.03!!!. i would like to know if it needs to be a specific length for a TT/A. i ll do some more research unless anyone can answer that question.

Wow, that sounds low, but be cautious, I have seen comments from people that have used that site to order parts, when the shipping and handling was tacked on, the part was actually cheaper at a local GM Dealership Parts Dept. But at that price, I hope it will work for you.

well i guess the topic stops here. my dad went ahead and bought a cable from Napa. we will see how it works.

Last time I checked at GM, they wanted $85 for the correct GN TV cable. The TCI cable looks right and is cheaper than GM.

I just bought the TCI cable for my TTA, I haven't installed it yet but it seems like a well made cable and is adjustable in length.

They are very length specific and there is NO interchange for the turbo/2004r combo.

You could use a universal but, I would check/set the length against a known true Turbo/2004r TV cable.

I chased a strange shift/throttle stop problem for a year - putting on a known turbo TV cable fixed it all...
