We ended up with a TTA, a GN, a nasty old Turbo T:biggrin: , and 2 new z06 Corvetts. It was a fun day. I wasn't able to get my new engine and car done in time for a run at a ten second time slip. After many days (and nights) of thrashing by myself and Lou to get my car dialed in, we were done in by a defective Comp roller lifter that would'nt pump up. At the last minute I talked Gary Wells in to flogging his white Turbo T in place of my car. I'll let every one post there own new best times.
Congrats;) .

WOW.. i can't believe what i see in the above pictures... Damn Gary, you have a TON of cleaning to do, after looking at those pics.. wish i could have made it out to watch.. Sorry that you couldn't run Mike, there is always nice time..

No way Gary took the queen out and abused it on the dragstrip?

It is a new day in Cali.!!

Mike made 10 runs with the best run being # 8 run @ 12.72 in the qtr & 107.16 through the traps with a 6.89 in the 1/8. Keep in mind that this was with Michelin "Sport Pilot" P245X50XR16's on all four corners, spare & car cover in the trunk, & starting out with the additional weight of about 3/4 of a tank of 91 and ending the 10th run with about 3/8 of a tank of gas. Half of Mike's runs were in the 12's, balance in 13.0's to 13.19's. I am totally stoked with the results of this as this was with 91 octane & Methanol, Razor's kit, & a TurboTweak "alky" chip. I am so glad to be free of the $6.699 a gal habit. No more race gas for me. I could never pay nor thank Mike enough for the great work that he did on the alky kit. I will forever be in his debt. Mike un-did the dash panel and used the 2 non-use spots in the stock dash panel being used for "low alky" & something else, so the system will be totally hidden in the interior compartment. I just could not be happier about the turnout of the alky install nor the qtr mile times. Also thanks Andrew for the up-pipe & clamps. Up-pipe works great & the stock clamps will no longer hold the pressure under boost. Actually, I owe many thanks to everybody for their help & advice over the years. After cleaning the driver's rear lower quarter, I know why I don't race. I think that Mike even enjoyed himself even though his GN with his old motor was 2 sec's quicker.

Great runs Gary.

Glad I could be of help for you and your car.

Umm, not quite, but close. Mike did 99.9% of the alky install on the car, so I thought that it only fair that Mike got to abuse the virgin for the day. "sides that, I am not about to let you guys hear of or see a 16 sec pass in a 12 sec car. We know that I can't do anything, but now we know what the car is currently capable of, and that is what I wanted to find out. Thanks again, Mike.

Nice runs Gary. Love the way the car looks with those wheels. I am considering a set myself. Are those Kirbans?

Is it April 1st already?

I thought I just heard something on the news about the four horsemen being spotted . Repent sinner, repent! It's the end of days!! ;)

Did Hell freeze over? :D Nice Gary! ;)

From what Mike told me you'll never get the rubber out from under the fenderwells. Keep up the good work.

No, I think that these are original GTA rims done properly years back as they don't carry a manufacturer's name or trademark on them that I can reckongnize, bought about 2 years ago from a 12K mile GN, virtually 99.9% clear coar remains & the paint appears to be powder coat as it seems that it is very thick. They came with the Michelin Sport Pilot tires that are on them now and the upgrade from the stock original factory rims & tires to this combo did a lot for the handling improvements of the car, most notably in the cornering ability. I would never leave home without them. Thanks for the props, Robert, hope that all is going well with you & your family.

Umm, Mike forgot to tell me that part, and you guys are correct, I don't think that the rubber will ever come out from under the wheelwells. Where's my old used toothbrush collection that I've been saving for a rainy day?

Move over, Kevold, I now own title to your old "16 second capable" disclaimer. That's with me shoeing, of course.

Don't mind me if i point out that this 1/8 time maybe a bit misleading, if you trapped a 6.89 in the 1/8 mile that would put you right around 10.70's in the 1/4 . check your timeslip again. :) nice times btw with a good 1.6 something short sixty you should be able to get a good 12 sec flat slip.. how much boost where you running any knock through the traps, how about your 02's what were they at WOT?

I'm shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary, you old fart. I am so thrilled to hear you ran your car,
see it didn't hurt, or melt, or anything else you might have heard.
you made my day, I knew there was hope for you,
and you knew the car would run 12's,
out-friggin-standing,
you have restored my faith in you,
:D

I am not questioning your logic, but checking the time slip again revealed the same thing, but maybe incorrect, as all of the other 60 fts. were in the 8.2 to 8.4 and that particular timeslip did not show the mph in the 1/8. I believe about 21 or 22 lbs of boost, I don't remember how much knock on that particular run, fractional °'s on most runs, 02's I think were maybe 790 on that run @ wot. Maybe Mike will chime in here, as he ran the car.

Ok Wells here is the deal, if you had a sixty foot of 8.2 and 8.4 that would mean you took at least 8 seconds to get the 1st sixty feet LOL and instead of a 12 second pass you would have a 19sec 1/4 mile run, I think the numbers you are seeing as far as the 8.2 and 8.4 is your 1/8 mile time which basically translates to an high 12sec pass in the 1/4 mile what you do is take your 1/8 mile time and divide by 0.64 and that would give you a 1/4 mile of 12.8 sec which is basically what you ran. :).. once again a 6.8 1/8 mile run would translate to a 10.7 sec run.. :) please someone else here chime in a clear things up for Wells :)
