Best run

On the best run, the direct scan shows the car left the line at 2800 RPMs. Max KR was 1.8 @ 84 MPH. O2s were right at 790 through the traps. Boost was at 21. Alky knob was set on 7.5.
The photo of the John Force burn out was kind of a fluke. Gary was at the wall with my camera, looking like he was ready to take the shot of a quick burn out. I rolled in to the box and started to spin em (car was in third gear). After about five seconds, I looked over at Gary, and saw him looking down at the camera while trying to get it open. Not wanting to miss a good photo, I hung out in the box another five minutes ;) untill he got my Olympus sorted out. Hey! What are friends for:D . Direct scan showed wheel speed spike while comming out the box 104 MPH:eek: . I don't think the car ran that fast at the other end of the track that run:D . That photo turned out to be a great shot. All it cost was a set of tires. Aaaah, Gary needs to get a set of DRs any ways.:p

I saw a few screwy 1/8th times that day. I think that we have one time slip that shows our 1/8th mi. MPH of 141. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if we can trust ANY of those time slips. Only felt like 15s to me:D . Guess we'll have to go back and run it again...

Ok Wells here is the deal, if you had a sixty foot of 8.2 and 8.4 that would mean you took at least 8 seconds to get the 1st sixty feet LOL and instead of a 12 second pass you would have a 19sec 1/4 mile run, I think the numbers you are seeing as far as the 8.2 and 8.4 is your 1/8 mile time which basically translates to an high 12sec pass in the 1/4 mile what you do is take your 1/8 mile time and divide by 0.64 and that would give you a 1/4 mile of 12.8 sec which is basically what you ran. :).. once again a 6.8 1/8 mile run would translate to a 10.7 sec run.. :) please someone else here chime in a clear things up for Wells :)
You are correct, thiose were 1/8 mile times. However, on the 8th run, which was Mike's best run, the timing slip shows 6.894 for the 1/8, but it does not for some reason show the mph for the 1/8. I am sure that it is incorrect, but I did not notice it until you pointed it out.

Run # 9 shows a 1/8 mile time of 7.977 with a trap of 141.83, a 1/4 mile of 12.760 and a trap of 106.50.
Dyno is next, I hope, as it doesn't leave any evidence (rubber on rear quarters).

Congrats Gary.. Glad to see you enjoying the car :)

Razor:
Thanks, Julio, I was just getting ready to E-mail you and tell you what a nice kit you produce, and how well it works. Mike Barnard (Spoolfool2) got it all dialed in and I can't believe what a differece that it makes. Combines with the Turbotweak alky chip and Mikes talents at setting everything up and dialing it in, I am truly amazed. No more tip-in, no more $ 6,59 a gal gas, no more flat spots, instant throttle response (along with the RJC boost cvontroller). Thanks again for everything.

Gary-- Congrats on your acheivement-- it's nice to see a low mileage vehicle that a number of people (Lou, Scott, Mike nordy racer, Kevold, Mike B., yours truly) have had their hands on do so well its first time out.

Don't know what he ran against Gary - same E63 AMG Benz ran a 12.53 @ 112 against me though. There were about 5 or 6 AMG's there, quickest I saw was running 11.7's

Yes, there have been so many peeps that have worked on my car, helped on my car, advised on my car, that I am doubtful that I could ever remember the names, and I am aware of how well that it turned out considering the # of peeps that have been involved. Lou Czarnota, Scott Wile, Tim Lee at DonLee Auto, Neal Stewar?, Morgan, Pete, Kevold, Ray, Mike (Nordy Racer), Frank (1BADDAM) Kirban Performance, Mike & Marianne at FTS&S, Eric Marshall (Turbo Tweak), Razor (Julio Don of Alkycontrol fame), Marcus Savitske of Savitske Classic & Custom, Global West, Race Jace at RJC, Mike Barnard (Spoolfool2), Andrew Graziani, even T6P played an important part as I won my fuel pump & hotwire kit in a drawing that they had over there a few years back, and I am sure that I have forgotten a few names, everybody has been great in helping me get this thing where it is at, and I am not done yet by any means. I would like to see high 11's in the qtr (on the present tires), a skidpad figure of less than 1.00, and braking ability to stop without having to throw out a big anchor in emergency conditions. Many thanks, everybody. Not a bad looking car, either.

Gary, Holly cow!

I just never realized that SO many people had there hands all over your car. I guess that I kinda thought I was special. Ya know, if word gets out about this kind of sluty, trampish behavior, it could realy tarnish your car's reputation and value. It seams like since we introduced this car to alcohol, all it cares about is living life in the fast lane, and being man-handeled from one guy to the next. Gary! Is this thing a Turbo Buick? Or is this thing Britney Spears?

Felling not so special
mike

Hey Gary...Since that car is such a mindless hussy, I've got the perfect vanity license plate for you.

Wow Gary,

Sounds like the chip you had before really sucked. I'm glad to hear the guy who made it doesn't work on Turbo Buicks anymore.

No, Neal, I am sorry that you took it that way, and I am hoping that you are not serious. I did not relate any of those specific characteristics to the chip. I am sure that most were my inability to tune and my fear of tuning.
I am going to list the differences between the car before the Alkycontrol alky kit running menthanol, the turbotweak chip chip, & Mike's (Spoolfool2) tuning.
The car now starts quicker, runs smoother at warm-up, idles a little smoother, & no longer has any noticable tip-in. Noticably better street manners all of the way around. Which of those features are attributable to the differences in the chip & the differences between Mike's tuning and probably not being tuned for a while I do not claim to know. And if the guy that made that chip no longer works on turbobuicks then I am truly sorry to hear that. He was and is a great inspiration for everybody involved with turbobuicks. The marriage of a TurboTweak adjustable chip with the Alkycontrol unit is simply great. That's all. It will be interesting to see how this thing dynos now. Hope that you and your family are doing great.

And the throttle response improved not because of a chip change, but because I did not have the RJC boost controller adjusted correctly, and that might have been the tip-in characteristic, or a major part of it also. Mike took it apart & stretched the spring, then re-adjusted it.

Hey, I got a great idea to break the boredom, let's all beat up on Gary.

I must have been asleep. I had to do a double take when I saw that car! I can't believe that it actually went to the track. Anyway, good to see that the car is running well and that she's getting out a bit more...
