Translator Settings

I just installed a used translator and LT1 3" MAF. I control my fuel and timing with my TT chip. Since I installed the translator the car runs rich and knocks on hard acceleration where it didn't before. I'm thinking the translator is set up for more fuel and timing and is too much with my chip parameters. How should the translator be set to add no fuel or timing? Thanks
