This morning I took the car for a quick highway run.... at approx. 120 mph in 3rd gear I noticed my egt's @1675, so slowed her down.....my o2's were @780...0 knock...My question is...since egt's were getting a bit high, I was wondering if adding some timing would help to get them to come down?
Or, should I try adding more fuel @wot w/ the translator? It's set to run 8% rich @wot right now)

Or something else?

Yes, adding timing will bring EGT.

As will running a tad richer.

I think I'll add a little timing in there because with the o2's at 780, I wouldn't think that the high egt's were from being too rich ......do you?
Of course I'm just using a scanmaster & probably really need a wideband to really see what it's doing..

Add a couple degree's and see what happens.
 
Well, 1675 is pretty hot...I think things can start melting at around 1700+ degrees. From what I've heard/read egts should be around 1550-1620's w/ alchy.
I did bump up the timing a tad (2 degrees), but never made it to 3rd gear as it felt as if it were popping at the top of 2nd although the scanmaster recorded 0 knock & my low o2's were @830.
So....I put the timing back to 23/21 & took a little wot fuel out of the translator, turned down the alchy a tad and was able to get a quicky run in up to 110mph in 3rd. O2's were @ 765 & egt's were @1550.....maybe I'm on the right track? Funny thing is I thought with this 70gtq bb turbo running 24 lbs of boost that I'd have my single nozzle alchy know tuned up a alot more than 1/3 turn???
