I heard from a friend that there is a gasket that fits the 3 bolt flange between header and turbo. He says it is metal ringed like a stock head gasket, and the rest of the gasket is just like a head gasket also.. Im having real troubles sealing that flange and its driving me crazy.. Im bout ready to sell the car just because when this gasket blows out BOOST SPIKE is inevidable..
I've tried to flatten the flanges, but it doesnt seem to help.. I hear the copper gaskets end up leaking, so last night I was informed of this crush gasket with the metal ring.. anyone heard of it?

IN NEED OF HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize alot of places sell the copper gaskets... I've just been real sick of having to keep changing this rtv that blows out.. The copper gaskets everyone says leaks past after a while. This Head gasket type gasket with the metal ring for no possible blow out would be #1 fix..

gasketr

Do a search for Rivera turbo flang gasket. I used one and it blew out as well.

I had the header flage milled flat and use rtv...so far so good.

Which blew out? the copper or the riv gasket? is the Riv gasket the one with the metal ring?

I have on that is like the EGR valve gasket...It's graphite on both sides (at least it looks like it) I have used the same one on 3 turbos and not a leak yet...Never milled the flanges.

The GM graphite gasket is no longer in production or available from anyone. We are trying to get these made

When did this happen Mike??? I only ask because I got mine a year ago from a TB vendor...I might have to ask him where he got it from.

I have recently requested this gasket from GM and (like Mike says) it is no longer available. I used the copper gasket on my new turbo and it is holding just fine. I have an extra one to sell as I ordered a couple of them from a local parts house. They manufactured by SCE and the part number is 4172. The diameter is specific to the three bolt turbo flange and is 2.275 inches.

Have had the same problem with copper gaskets, and no longer use them.

After dealing with this problem for years, and the only decent solution was the GM/Victor gasket that is no longer available.

On my desk is a pre-production, 3-bolt turbo gasket that will be produced by TA Performance.

This is very similar to the GM gasket except made from a more high temp material. Same as what will be used for the TA header gaskets now also ready for production.

One of these gaskets will be installed with my turbo and will be in Las Vegas next week. I will also have a loose one for display. Expect that production will begin in a couple weeks.

LESS THAN A BUCK!!!!!!

:o Auto zone has Engine Seal #85083 exhaust flange gasket for like 83 cents that I have seen on the boards before, metal/graf. gasket that works like a charm. I have copper ones just sitting around (they seem to distort or leak after some time). there is a cross ref. on the package= Detroit#13008,130081, McCord#82 0014, Victor# F 7192. If your flange is warped real bad just use two.:D PS: that 13008 might be 1300B and 130081 might be 1300B1 it's hard to tell on the Detroit gasket numbers.

my buddy just picked up that autozone part and is waiting at my house with it.. hope we'll be spoolin' happy tonight... :D :D :D :D :D :D
