Stock motor bolt ons only. I have run a best of 11.2 @120 but I cant get the car to 60' (1.7 is normal). Ive had other buicks and they all came outta the hole alot better than this one (low 1.6's on average). Would a turbo better matching my setup help this car into the 10's or a better 60' or am I being greedy? Let me know what you think?

02's are high seven hundered to low 800's all the way down the track.

Current setup is
precision 62 turbo .85 exhaust housing
Precision SLIC
60lb inj,
walbro pump,
rjc power plate
RJC 3" Polished Exhaust,
3" downpipe,
BeCool Radiator,
Dual Fans,
Razors Alky,
Fully Built Tranny 3200 stall Pro Torque converter
ATR Bar,
Upper and Lower Control Arms,
Lakewood Drag Shocks,
Stock Motor
no front sway bar

You need to get the 60' down. Any videos of it? That would really help others chime in. If you have a precision billet 6265 I would not change turbos. There are more things you need to tell us about your car and tune to get this thread rolling.

Its not a new turbo its an older 62 turbo. Not sure how old, but at least 3 years old. It came on the car when I bought it. I know I need to get the 60' down, but the question is do you think a newer, more efficient turbo would help this thing spool quicker and possible help the car come outta the hole quicker?

If you have the TE62 with a P trim. then I would go with the Garret .63 housing for sure.

Agreed but depending on how he launches the car it may not solve all of his issues.
How much boost/timing are you running?
How do you launch and at what rpm boost?
How much MPH does it pick up between the 1/8th and the finish of the 1/4?
Tire size? Gear? Trap RPM?
Tuning tool?
Lock up or Non- Lock up Converter?

60' is way off. Things to improve it would be making sure rear suspension is solid. The
Ex housing is wrong for the application. The Garrett .63 would be much better. 3000 stall@0 and a powerlogger file could be sent to the chip burner for tweaking. Make sure alky isn't spraying while spooling.

When I went to the Garrett 63 on my 45A it improved my 60 to a best of 1.50 and an average consistently under 1.6 off the foot brake. With the 63 I had to change staging procedures because I spool so quickly now.

I have a card in the car with timing and chip settings dont have it on me. We havnt pulled any timing out of the TT chip.

28# boost/timing not sure
I usually try to build 5# boost between 5-10 usually depending on what I can pull off. But I think I might get a better result trying to give it a more fluid launch then trying to hold it at 5-10# boost then releasing the brake.
tire size is 275/60/15 MT drag radial.... stock rear....trap rpm not sure
I have a scanmaster for tuning thats it
non lockup converter

these are my two best runs on two different days...right lane

rear suspension is ATR bar, i think UMI upper and lower control arms, air bags. Alky dosnt come on till 10 psi. Where can I buy the .63 exhaust housing?

.63 ehaust housing and a RJC boost controller. It will set it on fire out of the hole esp. with the 3200 converter you have.

I can sell you one for $75 but I need a good stock housing as a core.

hmm now I just need to find a good stock housing...I'll make some calls to some MAGNA mambers see what we can come up with.

That is a good deal for someone. Could take the lip off (bellmouth) and polish inside the neck then have the outside ceramic coated black. Nice winter project. lol

Thanks Bison for offering these exhaust housing to members. Especially since its really tough to find the .63 Garrett. They work awesome on the street and work well down to low low 11's.

Bison--Can you sell a Garrett for a Precision 6262 jb? If so, what would the cost be? Thanks.

I don't have a 62 ex wheel here or I could do it. Id need one to copy. $75 plus $75 core for the housing.

Could you do it if I sent you the original Precision 62 housing for a template?

I need an actual turbine or cartridge. There isn't much room for error. It has to be verified after contouring.
