Turbo Regal limited myths and facts.

There is nothing in any dealer brochure that suggests that there was 3 different shades of rosewood. Only the burgundy (I forget what Buick called it) and Rosewood pictured above.
I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me which of the three shades of rosewood my car is.

So explain this.

I'd like to see pictures of the different rosewood cars

In all actuality there were quite a few colors close to rosewood that get misconstrued as rosewood.

check out the like and enjoy.

Imagine how many dollars you’d be giving back. :D

No worries.

I guess GM couldn't even get it right when they printed this stuff. Now that I think back, I do remember a lighter shade of rosewood on a mid eighties Chevy celebrity. I guess I've just never seen it on another regal.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen all 3 shades on here.

Then again i could have mistaken them with some other color.

There are a few on the thread "Lets see those limited".

A lot of the older pics are no longer there unfortunately.

Pictures can be deceiving. My rosewood car looks different depending on the lighting. All these are the same car

Even nowadays, working at a Buick dealer myself, we have manuals with color charts. Sometimes these charts are different than what a customer can see online. So when they come in and want to order a color combination that isnt in production they throw a fit and call Buick or GMC and complain and really nothing happens. I had one guy who has bought numerous trucks from me order a GMC 2500 long bed . This was a few years back. Long story short, the Midnight Blue color was only being produced on 2500s, for one week out of the whole year. I had the GM zone manager put me in touch with the plant manager who called us and said place your order and that was that. I have also had the experience of several customers letting me know Mocha Steel ( a deep Brown color) was getting eliminated and they knew before GM officially let the dealers know as well. I have caught numerous times with owners manuals not updated from certain models etc.

My Limited is 78k mile, original everything survivor in my profile picture!

I've got one of the 55 86 tan leathered TTypes. Not a limited since not offered in 86. Has black out package, tan leather, 3/4 console and column shift. What an oddball. I'll post up pics soon

I never knew you could get a column shift turbo car other than with the limited package... how long have you owned that one? Could you post the trunk label?
Definitely an odd bunch of options.

I was just going to ask a similar question.

Maybe because it's an 86 explains the column shift.

My question is, we're there any 1987 turbo regals with a column shift other than the limiteds?

D

JC Turbo's car is the TRUE rosewood. I call it salmon LOL

All those other colors EVIL listed are GM available colors for 1987, that doesn't mean they were available on turbo regals.... Right????

Claret or Garnett is just that, you don't call it claret rosewood or Garnett rosewood.... right??

Dr Pepper rosewood?
Dark red metallic rosewood?

Royal t Ltd
I have a bench seat column shift 87 turbo car, of course they made a lot of em :)

Yes the garage is a damn mess right now, clearing out the other garage for the winter

Bad pic, but you can see the WO2 1987 turbo non limited
If you look close, you can see the shifter and GNX cluster

That's pretty cool.... I guess you have the standard (not heavily padded) bench seat in that. Does it have power windows?

Yes it has the plain Jane full bench, not split bench... not heavy padded
It has the same seat a regular regal has, and it's fully optioned with defrost, power windows, power door locks, remote mirror, power antenna, non concert sound No power trunk release

In that photo I see a bunch of cars, car parts and tools.

Where is this mess you speak of?

This is just one more reason why I love T-types and 'Turbo-Ts' more than GNs.... just so many combinations - so much individuality. Cool for sure!
