Matt broke him down, and came back with energy in the 3rd round after lossing the first and second round to BJ. BJ was ahead in the count 10-10 to matt's 9-9 score card going into the third round. Bj was drained though on a weak triangle attempt on matt in the end of the second round, he came out in the third just dead matt took advantage and got him to the ground and pounded his as s! BJ was not in shape at all, matt's conditioning clearly won the fight. Which sucks because penn was ahead and actually had better technique, but like racing, you can't run a car without fuel, and BJ's tank was empty.
matt was on top looked like a T shape position, matt's stomach was on his neck, while matt's legs where wrapped around one arm, and one of matt's arms wrapped BJ's other arm. Matt locked both bj's arms while stretching out and his head was unprotected, he took over 20 shots to the face, but they weren't the strongest punches in the world but uncontested and not blocked. In the slow mo you can see that penn's only defense for matts half powered punches was him closing his eyes and turning his head, it was nasty to watch.
