valvetrain noise mystery

I just recently put new bearings, rings, etc in my engine that ran well. I put it back together with the same lifters and cam only to hear alot of loud metallic valvetrain noise, it doesnt sound like lifter ticks, anyone know what could cause this?

it ran well. you rebuilt it? now it ticks. go figure.

any usefull responses would be much appreciated, thanks! It was rebuilt due to low oil pressure because of excessive bearing wear.

Bad bearings make that noise. You have the right size in there??

The sound is coming from the valvetrain, and it does not sound like a bearing, and yes, it has the correct bearings.

Are you sure that oil is getting on top? (pushrods, lifters, rocker arms)

did you place the lifters back on the lobe they originally came off of when the engine was torn down?

it is important.
