Yeah I'm in Japan, or Okinawa. Strange thing is Okinawa is part of Japan and they speak Japanese, but they do not consider themselves Japanese. Anyhow, I've got a rental car, and drive around and all I see here are Military guys in Supras, Skylines, RX-7's, ect driving around all aggressively trying to out fartcan each other with their rides. The deal on the Skylines is they are like the Regal as in they have a base model, they are a dime a dozen around here. Then they have the GT, almost like a GN is to an N/A Regal, again these are common to see, then there is the GT-R, this would be like a GNX I guess, I've only seen 2 GT-R's since I've been here. I've seen a few twinturbo'd RX-7's, and some Turbo'd Supras too. I just wish I had my T over here so I could phucking smoke these ricer fags... But the Regals are in the States safely in my garage  The Ricers are safe from a humiliating blow to their 2.0L egos....

Dont forget Ben, I need coilovers for my 240sx , and if you can fit it in your luggage I'll take a SR20 or RB25dett. I actually love the RX-7's and Skylines (R34's are the best), I dont consider them "rice" because they actually have alot of potential to go really fast, and you dont see them in the states that much. Have fun over there, and shoot me a PM when you are getting back to the states. I'm going to try and finish all the bondo work on the airdam tomorrow and get some paint on it. And dont forget to live your lifa a quarter mile at a time . Later Ben

Dave it's not the guys driving the Jap Performance cars I can't stand it's the ones who have nothing and roll around like their in frigging Indy cars. I'm all over the coil overs... I will admit to liking the 93-95 version of the RX-7, it is a tasteful looking sports car and has the performance to match. Another funny thing I noticed is over here allot of the cars have the performance parts stickers in English as opposed to in the states where the kids like the Japanese stickers

Grab me an old Skyline GTR! :D

I'll even take an old Mazda RX-4.

There was a Navy guy I spoke to over here that said it would run him in the neighborhood of 10K to ship his car back to the States... I don't think I'd be willing to pay that for almost anything available over here...

Its usually the military guys that act like the ricers with the base and mid level Skylines they bought at the lemon lot. Though once in awhile you'll find a military guy that blows all their COLA on their ride. When I was stationed at Kadena there was a Marine that had a 180SX with an RB26 motor from a GTR...that car was bad ass.

Other that that its mostly the locals that have the bad ass GTRs and RX-7s.

Anyways enjoy Oki and stay away from whisper alley.

I'm actually staying real close to Kadena, across HWY 58 from where Camp Foster is, in a Rental on the beach.... :D

180SX is a great platform, and a RB26 makes it that much better. The only complaint I have with my 240sx (stock KA24de) is the lack of brakes when you really need it. Other than that its a fun car to beat the hell out of, I got 208K on the clock and I try to take it easy nowadays, except in the rain ;).

saw an 08 skyline black on black

went to the texas mile in the spring of this yr, for those who don't know it's like booneville salt flats but you have a mile all out and and half mile to stop and it's a closed off runway. saw alot of cars there, tons of vettes, cobra's, a vert ferrari, and a few lambro's and stuff. but that GT-R was like a picasso ( yea yea i know the last 2 are like picasso's if your into them ) . had a dealer tag on it and the guy who drove it parked it like he was going to run it. he was like naw, guess he was just showing it to the guys who trailered in there queens and us who wanted to drool. saw alot of 200+ runs. top speed when i was there was 253 out of a supra from a guy in houston. the record is 324 from a jet car, it wasn't there when i went but was last fall. they just had it but i didn't go due to prior obligations. i was curious what a TB would run there but don't want to have to drag my car back if something happens. Of course there is always dragging it down there on a dolly but still i wouldn't want to do that unless i had the upgrades i'm going to do this winter.
