Hello,
I just installed an adjustable wastegate actuator on my 86 TR. The clip or snap ring was totally rusted out and Im not sure if it needs to be a special retaining clip or a snap ring. Does anybody have any pictures, specs, or description of what it is that hold the rod to the shaft?
Thanks,
Rich

I always use an alligator clip. Works well and easy to take off or put on.;)

I've seen a lot of people simply using "roach clips", same thing as an alligator clip! LOL ;)

Throttle cable clip. Grab some at a junk yard or Gbody has new ones you can buy.

Rule #284 do not lose the jesus clip!

Every motor I have had the privilege of working on has had/or ended up with gator clips.

And if you need one in a pinch, like at the racetrack, raid the one off the cruise control cable at the throttlebody.

If you can wait til this afternoon,I'll get you the part number. I've got a bag of those clips in my console. Got them from Lowes. Hillman makes them. ....but I'll have to admit, right now I've got an alligator clip on there.

After the last downpipe removal I finally used the alligator clip, much easier to remove, Should've done that a long time ago!

Actually, rule one is throw away the stock clip, and use an alligator clip which you can easily remove and install on a hot engine! :)
i guess im just thick headed lol i always stuck with it until i went external gate a while back.

Gator clip here.... If you don't like the look of the alligator clip , just use it till you get your waste gate set where you want it then put the stock one back on. Sam
