water pump ?

qwik question guys im changin out the water pump and i noticed that 2 of the holes on the water pump dont have bolts is it suppse to b that way ? or should every hole have a bolt ? just asking before i install new one thanx

anybody? i know that theres a hole thats soppose to b that way to b able to tell wen the water pump is bad it will leak but is it only one or 2 holes ? mayb someone can take a qwik peek under their hood for me thanx or just link me to a website where i can c a pic

Is there two holes, one up top one lower?? if so I have the same. I don't see any threads so I would assume it's nothing. I have no leaks there, hope this helps.


Although if you look at the sticky http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/hot-air-non-intercooled-tech/33080-basic-hotair-info.html down to the motor pics, you get a better look. we both might be missing something but I have no idea.




Which pump did you go with stock or HD?

I think there are 2 dowel pins from the timing cover into the water pump. These pins will not get bolts, but align the pump during installation.

JJ's right on this. there are 2 locator pins that should fill the holes and if they're not there then you have an issue.
