I would like to offer up two comments/suggestions: (1) remove the wire ties holding the spark plug wires together and get spacers. Local shop had problems with a customer's car until they figured out that their young and inexperienced mechanic had wire tied the wires together....and second comment, at this point, would be to find a local engine builder close to you with GN experience who can look at the motor for you. Sounds like it will save you alot of time and aggravation, and probably even save you money in the long run. I know you would prefer to deal with the guy who built the motor, but I think he has shown that he isn't willing/capable to satisfy you. Good luck!

Don't forget about what I told you about the PCV sucking oil because of the type intake gasket your using. If you want to check for yourself, pull the PCV line at the throttle body and see if there is oil in the hose.

Is the pcv even working? From your discription of the smoking I figured the tb would be all full of oil.
I agree with the other poster's comments on the sparkplug wires. You can even do the loop with a larger zip tie and loops between the wires to separate them trick just to get them apart from each other for the time being.

what happens by them being tied together ?

LOL I honestly don't remember. It was several years ago when I spent my free time at the engine builder, trying to light a fire under his azz to get my motor done. However, it was bad enough that the customer kept bringing his car back, like two or three times, until they figured it out. It must have caused it to sputter or back fire or something. I'm sure it didn't cause oil leaks though. Hey are you going to Bowling Green this year? I thought I saw in another thread that you bought a plane ticket. If so we should hook up. PM me your hotel and stuff. I'll be bringing a buddy of mine who has never been there before. I've gone about 5 times.

Yes I'll be there  Where is a popular place to stay ?

I think Drury Inn might be the nicest, but is probably a little pricey, like around $100/night. I'll be at Super 8 in Franklin, Ky, about 15 miles from BG. They take dogs and I'll have Rudy with me. He is ChowXGolden Retriever. Check the Buick club website for hotels: GS NATIONALS HOTELS & ACCOMMODATIONS .:. May 12 - 16, 2009 :: Buick GS Nationals.

Check out what I just won about 45 minutes ago: eBay Motors: Buick Grand National Hood Insulation (item 170304777186 end time Feb-27-09 20:22:50 PST)

wow you stole tht looks great.. thats why you have to love ebay sometimes

It looks nice in the pic, plus it is the old style with 9 holes instead of 8. The guy lives 2 hours away so I'll spend some money on gas but it won't be as much as his $93 shipping charge. Plus I need a road trip...weather still sux here in Central Illinois but at least it isn't snowing.

well I did get 1 good deal this month I bought a steering wheel from
" THE WRATH " for 60 shipped. then he turned around and sent it 2 day priority..

then this car. I think I'm gonna just part it our sell it.. I want a track car a sumwhat reliable car for what its worth. lol

Rechecked this today & there is oil in the house & the in side of the T/B.
I was wondering if some1 would'nt mind explaining to me what is going on.
I got the car up to about 10#'s of boost & it just blew a big cloud of smoke,

By the way just to update every1 I spoke with the shop & they said send it back & they would take it apart & rebuild it again.

Whats your opinions ?

Because I honeslty don't want to pay to send it & get it back .

I would cut my losses and have someone else look at it. I wouldn"t have even brought it back to the original shop. It's not like they were taking care of you, they charged you over $2000 to look at it. Do Not Bring It Back To Original shop. Take the $1000 dollars for transporting and have another respectable shop take a look at it. I am by no means saying it is the shops fault I tend to side with caution. If I thought there was any reason to believe the original shop did an inferior job of rebuilding the engine I would never have given one thought of spending money with them.

If they couldn't get it right the first two times, they won't get it right the third time.

Was the orginal shop you used familiar with TBs? From your description of what's happening it seems like the missed things that an experienced Buick shop wouldn't. I'm sure experienced Buick shops get tons of work from shops that didn't really understand what they were working on but "did the work". There must be someone in your area that can recommend a better shop.
