This is what i did sofar. I would like to keep this thread just for repairs and additions and building fixtures. please try to refrain from picks of the work on the car. picks with the car will be ok. As i have said in my thread (here are some picks) i have been working on the brick floor. It has been some long hours but it has heated lots better. The first pick is the max load that the truck could handle. Each brick weighs about 8 lbs. this project took about 1860 brick to do the 20'x20' garage. as you look you can see the progress. This is not all done but i will finnish in the spring when i can put up new overhead doors.I have a very limited budget and i got the old road pavers from a local town for a good price:biggrin: So i thought about it and about 10 trips latter and some tired hands and back from digging i came home and started the work. Not bad for 100 year old pavers.

I don't have any pics to show, but I just finished installing HEAT in my 2.5 car garage. I installed one of those 75,000 BTU Big Max Mr. Heaters. It runs on propane. Heats the entire garage up to 80 degrees in about 10 minutes:D Now I gotta better insulate the garage because the heat escapes just as quickly!

Started replacing interior doors and putting down new baseboard and casing. I did find time to rebuild my engine.:)

Very cool!

As for your wood furnace. I have used those before. Take that box fan and have it blow the air off the sides.. it's insane how much more heat it will put out then.

ya i got to do a little of that to this summer. One good thing that i have is that the garage is cinder block so it will hold heat for a bit. It use to take 4 hours with the dirt floor to heat up now 1-2 hours and off to the garage i go. but for the 2 hours that i wate for the heat i help the wife in the house and by that time she is ready to send me out. :p

The one on the chair is a an extra that i use in the front of the burner. I just got done loading the burner before i took the pick. I do have a steel box fan that sits on the burner that blows out. The other thing that i did is the cinder block that is around the burner. This heat the block and then i get an air draw though the block .

I saw Regal-nuts new floor this wkd and them pavers look nice in there!

I've added heat. Not enough to compensate for only being half insulated on the 35x40 side. Not enough money to finish that or the second floor yet. Got windows in the doors before the snow flew. Used panels from french doors gotten at Habitat. Did a bit more wiring, stuff I brought from the old shop. Should be pretty operational by springtime!:D

Building the garage

Here are pics before I had the slab poured.... I already had the slab poured last Thursday, we had a few days of warm weather.... I'll get pics of the slab up tomorrow. I bought the house 6 months back with a pathetic 1 car garage, Thursday the contractors are coming to put up the steel building. I hope on finishing the 1 car into a family room this springtime, that work i'll do myself... The last picture (Winter) is the exact reason I need a two car... that was a week ago.... My poor Regals...

MAN cave almost complete...

These guys got here at 8:00 this morning and have not stopped working... They have gotten all the frame, roof, and nearly all the walls up. They look like a well oiled machine, they remind me of some of my Soldiers from a few years back, knew their portion of the job so well they don't even have to think about doing it... they said they'd be done by 2:00 pm today... they might actually make it.

A company called Carolina carports... It's 26' long x 24 ' wide x 9' wall heighth.

$2,500.00 Slab, thats framed poured and inspected
$6,100.00 For the building, installation, anchoring, and rolling doors.

In no particular order:

killed some mice
vacuumed up a lot of dog hair
charged the GN's battery then tripped over the battery because I left it on the ground and walked around with the light off...

and finally...killed more mice.

I REALLY hope you have the battery on a block of wood! Nothing will sap the juice out with more deadly force to the bat than sitting on the ground or concrete!

Benoitthegr8 I don't know what's better, gettin yer shop together so quickly or the weather there!!!
