I have a small concrete driveway. It's only about 30'x40'. My neighbor did his drive way before moving out. The driveway looks great. I am trying to decide if I want to rent or buy one. My question is.... what psi washer is needed to clean a concrete driveway? 2000psi models are about $65 a day. The price goes up when the psi goes up. I have seen some cheaper pressure washers but will they cut the mustard?

Rent unless you WILL make regular use of it.
the Cheap ones are just that cheap and the pump burns out
the better ones are big$$$$$ but last much longer.

What is the minimum PSI I would need to rent to get my driveway clean?

I AM NOT AN EGGSPERT:eek:
the higher the PSI and GPM the wider the spray that you can use
the lower the PSI and GPM the narrower the spray you MUST use to do the same job.

SO mines is a 2000 or 2500 PSI and 4.5 GPM and for cement i use about a 1.5 wide spray any smaller and i can make a hole in the cement.
with my old machine (1750 PSI and 1.2 GPM) i could only use a "pencil" to clean cement. Imagine how long doing you driveway with a pencil would take?

Get the most powerful one you can. I have a 3300 PSI John Deere w/ the Honda engine and braided lines and it makes quick work of most jobs, but even with that towards the end of a job you sort of get worn out.
